As I currently type this, there are 2 pages of spam threads in the Talkback forum. This is a recurring problem in many forums, but it's the most annoying/problematic in the Talkback forum, where we're trying to discuss articles.
I'm not sure if it's possible, with the current software, but is there a way for the site to automatically cross-post the articles to the Talkback forum (creating a thread in the process), and then locking the forum so that only staff can create new threads? It would not only prevent spam threads from being created, but wrong-forum threads in Talkback as well. |

What good is a forum, if users cannot create new threads.
What is happening in the Talkback is an attack. |

I think what Dessa suggests seems like a decent suggestion for the Talkback forum, at least. Those threads tie in with Reviews and News/Interest Articles, which aren't created by normal users anyways.

Actually, non-moderators shouldn't be able to create new threads in Talkback unless they are going through the talkback interface.
