to be fair they're clearly tongue-in-cheek about it with not caring about proving if they're your mom or not, but man, the whole "indirect" nature of japanese culture has had some real unfortunate side affects in this industry. |

My Little sister Can Read Kanji totally predicted this trend 6 years ago.
It talks about the "standard" attributes of "little sister, big sister, childhood friend", but then that there's an "attribute" stronger than them all... "mother". (It was a commentary on the state of light novels circa 2011, but it seemed precient enough to realize that "Mom" novels would become a thing one day.) |

It would actually be quite funny if his mother were to act like a real mother, with no fetichisation or incest subtext. Like...

While the LN that is the main focus of this article certainly has an...eye catching title, a couple of others caught my eye too.
Though, that first title is the one that I'm most interested in finding out more about.
