It's nice to have it streaming but unfortunately it is still stuck to the linear TV model. I may need to explore other options to see both parts.

Oh that's cool, if the dub sounds nice I'll might as well check it out.

Nice to see this getting a dub. Hopefully it will give it more exposure because that series, albeit short, was pretty damn awesome. If only it had been a full tv series...

I wonder who funded the DUB? Crunhyroll, Anime Limited or maybe even Kahra.

Probably NHK themselves. It's looking very likely that they funded the Kingdom dub Funimation released (but didn't record).

NHK World is also going to be running the latest Miyazaki doc on Saturday: https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/animegiants/

Awesome that Tsurumaki returned from the short to direct. Want to see more from him.

Really neat to see this getting dubbed. Hopefully it can find its way onto a home release here too.

I like that it's essentially an OVA, or what OVAs used to represent: high quality and short. Right to the point with a bunch of money poured in, and no need to fill out 12 episodes. Not everything needs to be a TV series.

Wait, is it also being streamed for viewers in the United States? Also, does this mean they're only available to be viewed during those times?

If there is more that the creators would like to tell, then yes. but if it is more just for the sake of more, than it would just pale compared to this 2 episode OVA.

Yes, NHK World is available to stream in the US (depending on where you live, you may be able to get it on TV). It's basically available everywhere. It's a linear television channel, so yes to that second question. NHK World offers free VOD viewing for a few weeks after broadcast on their website, but since this is a special presentation I'm not sure if that'll be the case here.

I've watched the channel through the website before. Usually the image quality is decent but sometimes it becomes pixely. Would prefer if it was available on TV in my area.

Anyone recognize the voices? Sounded pretty solid, though I felt the girl in the winter hat was a little flat.

I didn't recognize any of the voice actors. Hopefully, the voice actors eventually get their roles publicly confirmed.
