Jaw dropping numbers for Yuri On Ice, it is literally a phenomenon. One Piece dominating, as you'd expect. Quite happy to see Kingdom, Haikyuu and Boku no Hero up there as well.
Edit: Can we get that season 3 for Konosuba after all? |

Wonder how much higher TouRabu would be if it did include games, and where EnStars and I7 would be. Also, not very surprised to see that there's only one worthwhile thing on this list (Black Butler). And not to fear, the true emperor of all that is good will make his return this year or next. |

Holy shit Konosuba. why the hell haven't they adapted season 3 yet?!?!?
it's a freaking goldmine. they should just adapt everything Konosuba and milk the franchise. And there's other franchises that should go ahead and adapt more. like: Kingdom Tokyo Ghoul The Saga of Evil Tanya Black Butler Blue Exorcist |

Wow, I knew Yuri on Ice was big, but I didn't think it was THIS big. That's fantastic! It's actually shockingly close to One Piece's total, especially considering the size of the gap between it and the third place finisher.
Also surprising to not see some of the franchises most westerners would expect on here, like Dragon Ball or Naruto/Bortuo. |

The only thing that would really be counted for them on this chart are manga sales, and their manga adaptions are serialized monthly which puts them at a disadvantage compared to weekly series. They also get overshadowed by the anime versions. I imagine if merchandising was included Dragonball would do better as well. -Stuart Smith |

Hearty congratulations to the team at MAPPA for "making history" in so many ways with YOI. To see an original, new series succeed so well is astonishing and brilliant. It was one of the few bright spots of 2016 for me, with its respectful and often accurate depiction of a pro sport, brilliant storytelling, beautiful skating animation, and an incidental and _happy_ queer romance between the leads that avoids the uglier tropes of BL, it was a joy to watch.

A few weeks ago I had an argument with someone about how Love Live was a bigger franchise than Yuri on Ice in spite of YOI's bigger home media sales, and now I'm seeing YOI not only top the entirety of Love Live as a franchise but even scrape the heels of bloody One Piece, I'm in actual tears. I'm sure LL would be higher if games were counted, but still it's such an unexpectedly huge accomplishment, and just with home media and three CDs to account for
Also surprised to see High & Low so... high (pun unintended) I didn't know it was that popular, I wonder if they'll make an anime out of it given all the money they're making. |
