Definitely something I'm looking forward to.
Hoping it opens up near me, if not, there's always the DVD (I hope?).
Now, I'm unsure as to whether or not this is an English Dub premier or just the subtitled Japanese Dub footage. Could anyone clear this up for me? |

Nobody has commented dub or sub yet. Sony Pictures Classics history seems to point to "sub in theaters, both on DVD", but they're almost a completely different company than they were in years past, so who can say.
What I can say is that I'm a little peeved that they give away the overpoweringly happy opening sequence on the front of the website. That's just mean. |

I'm so with you, that opening is so awesome with the music, and well I won't go any further but it's stinks that Sony decided to do that.

I thought it was like a Sony Pictures policy to not dub anything, or perhaps now they will since they are hoping for more revenue for this title in theaters. And I think it couldn't hurt to have a dub.
Lastly I am excited that I will get to see this movie in a theater that has a better sound system then that hole in the wall theater had; I think that was only complained from the people I saw it with on Thanksgiving.

Jonathan Klein did a super job with Paranoia Agent, so I'm sure he'd hit the mark here too...
It's just too bad he won't be able to work his magic here too...
Lame.
Anyway... I hope this shows up in Berkeley. |

| I never really paid attention to Paprika before, but that trailer looked impressive. I'd be interested to see this movie if it's anything like that. |

| Yeah, the trailer has made me very interested, too--I loved Paranoia Agent, and this one definately has a similar feel. I hope it opens up here in Denver. |

Well, they do have to draw people in to go to the theaters and the OP sequence is the best way to do it. Great replay value imo!
Prob won't play in my area though. Another hike to Chicago..... |

I'd actually rather see a dub in the theater. Since one can't see a theatrical release whenever they please, I'd like to devote my eyes 100% to seeing the animation on the big screen instead of shifting focus between the subtitles and the animation.
I'm remaining optimistic that this'll come to Phoenix. |

You part of the club also . I just realized that's say "May 25" I thought it said March, but May. Damn that's a long way off but then again to be able to see it at all (again) is good enough for me. It's one heck of a movie, I can't wait....hopefully I don't have to drive to LA to see it. |

I liked that they put the intro online for Paprika, I think its an amazing sequence, and having seen it at the Chicago Intl film fest, I was kind of peeved that I probably wouldn't be able to see it again until much later ;P.
Now I can rewatch it! Thanks sony!
and seriously, it is good marketing to show that scene... |

I doubt Sony's likely to dub Paprika any more than they did with Tokyo Godfathers and Memories. It's rated R, and it's got Japanese elements which makes it a hard
sell outside of arthouse theaters. (Unless it magically gets nominated. *crosses fingers*) |

I'm hoping for the nomination too since it'll greatly increase Kon's popularity (though, I'm pretty sure that we're all aware of this).
A win would be cool, but (in the event it even gets nominated) it goes up against Cars...
Though... I really did like Cars...

For all I know, this had BETTER come to Delaware's movie theaters! And we need an English dub, too! (Hell, I'd still love to meet and then hit the asshat at Dreamworks who insisted on dicking us out of a R1 release of the GITS: Innocence dub, while we're at it) |
