C&D = cease and desist = "hey stop fansubbing/distributing this, although we're not announcing an official license for this title."

Not sure what you mean about "making it free"...I'm not aware of any free Suzuka previews released by Funimation yet. Since they've made an official announcement, that means yes, they will be releasing the dvd's, tentatively in mid June according to their parent company website, and they'll sell for $29.98 MSRP per volume and $39.98 for vol. 1 + box . Hopefully that helps.

Yeah, I've seen the manga and the anime is a lot more tame. But I'll still check out Funi's version.
