| I'd imagine they've determined their pop fiction line (and other novels) are doing well enough to justify releasing more titles. Or they may have had it for a while and were simply waiting for a good time to release it. |

| I have to say, Welcome to the NHK had one of the best prologues I've read so far. It's a great dive into the mood it's trying to accomplish, and very clever at that. |

Welcome to the NHK! is just one novel. |
Covert art also done by Yoshitoshi ABe. Hope that TP keeps it, considering I'm big enough of a fanboy to by it for that alone. |
There are actually two different versions of ABe art for the cover. I can't really say which of the two I prefer... they're both okay. |

| Interesting new to hear about the Trinity Blood, NHK and FMP novels, but I'm going to have to keep them in the back of of my mind (and on my wishlist) for now. I'll probably end up buying them eventually, but it could well be a year or two into the future. Can't really say that any of the manga licenses piques my interest except for King of Thorn (a little bit of interest in this one). |

I really want to read AQUA and Aria because I enjoyed the anime a lot.
I'm interested in checking out Tactics, King of Thorns, and Heaven!!.
I'm waiting for TP to release more Kino no Tabi novels and I want to check out the 12 Kingdoms novels, though I haven't seen the anime.
I want to get the Fruits Basket fanbook as well. |

If it contains any spoilers for the story that TP hasn't gotten around to translating, then I'll avoid it until later (or buy it, but keep it shelved). I do hope that the fanbook doesn't mean one less FB manga volume for the year (since it seems as if we're lucky to see more than two of them in a year, now ). |
From what I can tell by looking at a section that seems to be based upon the Fruits Basket volume covers, the fanbook must have been published after vol. 17 came out in Japan (the one with Hanajima on the cover). This means that Tokyopop's release of the fanbook in September is perfect because they should be releasing vol. 17 in August if they keep with the schedule they are currently on, and it also means that a new volume shouldn't be skipped (vol. 18 will probably come out in December). Three volumes come out a year, and the last volume is 23, so we should have them all by August 2009.

So we (and everyone) was getting a washed down version to begin with, and yes the original author did die and I don't think anyone is going to be continuing in his stead. |
Really? I thought that maybe the anime was based upon both the novels and the manga, mainly because when I took a look at the first volume of the manga, it didn't really remind me of the anime very much. The original author, Sunao Yoshida, passed away sometime in 2004 and his friend Kentaro Yasui (the author of the Ragnarok novels) was asked to continue the series. That information is from the Wikipedia entry on Trinity Blood, which also has lists of the two novel series, Reborn on Mars and Rage Against the Moons. According to the dates, the author's friend seemed to only have to write the last novel for the Rage Against the Moon series, since that last one was published in 2005. The two Trinity Blood series are made up of six volumes each. And I am looking forward to them since I'm intrigued by the strong points that have made their way into the anime, despite the many weaknesses.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the .hack novels that haven't been translated yet! Yes, please, Tokyopop, please bring them over here so .hack fans can read 'em!

That would be nice if it were the only way that more Yotsuba&! could be released. If ADV released more, I'd be happy. If Tokyopop got the rights and eventually got around to releasing volumes past volume 3, I'd be happy. Yotsuba would be happy, too. "Yotsuba & the Incredibly Long Wait Between Volumes!"

Do you mean that you have all the volumes released by ADV, or do you mean that you've been getting the Japanese volumes past volume 3 so that you truly do have "all the ARIA manga"? Just curious, because I can't wait to be able to get ARIA beyond vol. 3, as well as the first series, AQUA.

Yeah, more Kino no Tabi novels, too! Unfortunately, based upon some release date research I was doing, it seems that their release dates for the Kino no Tabi novels are rather far between. I can't remember what the time between them was exactly, though. I'll have to go look again.
Oh, too many quotes to copy and paste. |

'Dark Crystal' manga???? Now that's something you don't hear everyday. Now there's something I would like to see very much as I was and still am a big fan of the first movie. |

Glad to see more people might be picking up King of Thorns.

Hn, sounds promising. Now if Tokyopop really wanted some money out of this, they'd release both covers so fools like me would be torn wiith either buying one or both.

Tokyopop has a few licenes to other Media Works series, so I could see them picking up Yotsuba&! if ADV were to drop/sell it.

Finally the FMP novels, I'm very happy but I wonder when they will start coming out. I am surprised that Tokyopop is doing them, I would have thought Viz but not them.

Yeah, and I can blame you when I'm getting yet another series from Tokyopop once every 3-4 months.

Or, more likely, they may save us the trouble and decide they can do better coverart, which they seem to have done with pretty much everything else. |

| I'm all for the FMP novels, but what about some older ones? The Irresponsible Capitain Tylor books might not do well with the youngsters, but surely Cowboy Bebop & Fushigi Yuugi still have fans willing to buy their serie's novels. |

They really haven't had any of their novels released with the same cover art as their Japanese counterparts? That's insane. |

Maybe one or two did, but I know Crest of the Stars, Scrapped Princess and the soon to be released 12 Kingdoms (though that one is altered, not completely original) do not have the original coverart. I suppose maybe a couple of their early ones may have had the original art, like the Love Hina novels which had Ken Akamatsu art on it. Maybe the .Hack novels did to. I'm not sure on some their other more recent endeavors like Kino no Tabi or Karin though.
So it may be incorrect to say that none of them do, since I'm not sure, but it seems to be a habit of theirs. |
