why did Vash not get to the top of that list?  See, the people here know he'd be a great friend! He knows when to goof around, and when to be serious, always there when you need help, never gets angry(almost).
Oh, and I've always wanted Onizuka for a teacher...I've had a few that were fun, but no-one comes close to his awesomeness!
And as far as girl-friends (I'm a girl) I'd want Sana from "Kodocha"...kinda for the same reasons as Vash. Plus her house and mom, and life in general are insane. 
And um...Guu from Hare+Guu...but only if I was guaranteed my safety around her  |

Vash was one of the first people to come to my mind too. Out of the ones that made it to the top ten, I'd have definitely picked Goku. He's so carefree that it would be hard to not have a good time when you're around him.
After thinking about it though, I think Sana Kuroda from Kodocha might be the best choice. She's so crazy that it must be fun to be around her.  |

| I'm surprised that Rei got the pick over Kaworu. Kaworu is almost the complete anithesis to Rei. Rei is withdrawn, and likes to read. Kaworu is friendly, and a great conversationalist. I also thought that Duo Maxwell should have made the list, as should Quatre. Quite frankly though, I wouldn't really like to hang out much with Goku. Sure, he can blow up stars and such, but he seems too loud and hyperactive. He's always got to be out exploring or fighting. Another good character who isn't on the list is Roy Mustang, but alas, I grow close to ranting now. Can't afford to let go of reality. |

| the trouble with this as well as many other similar polls is people just revert to "which Anime character is your favorite?" instead of actually thinking "Who would actually be fun to hang around with?" |

Of the ones featured on the list I'd pick Son Gokou -super friendly, strong and unintentionally funny. Spending time with him would be a blast.
I agree with Cloe on Rei, she's just too distant and I don't think she would become friends with anyone without them inviting her over and going through the trouble of getting her out of her shell, but I guess every party needs the silent type that only speaks when something meaningful needs to be said, like Mori from Ouran High School Host club. |

I think you hit the nail square on there! None of the characters that I'd like to hang out with appeared on there and I agree with the people who said that Rei is on there because of the "friends with benefits" sort of thing...
If I was going to pick, my choices would be the entire Host Club because they are rather fun especially watching them interact with "common people/places." Tsukino Usagi because 1) I'm a total fan-girl , 2) She's bright and cheerful and sunny. I need to be around more people like her. And lastly, Anissina Von Karbeinikoff (Kyo Kara Maoh!) because of the way she's able to terrorize the men who surround her and who are supposed to be superior to her! |
