I know. Those are not called "eroge." That word is usually reserved for male-targeted stuff.

Not necessarily. My Japanese husband calls them both eroge. Since ero-ge just means erotic game, it's not exclusive at all. There are certainly more commonly used terms in official (magazine and such) settings, but the same thing could be said for male-oriented games too. |

Eroge is a broad term, but generally has the connotation of male lead dating female characters. It still includes the other way around. But a lot of times those are referred to as Otome games (or less often, Josei muke). |
