So does this mean we'll be seeing One Piece get picked up by Bandai?

Namco-Bandai investing in Kadokawa sounds annoying, since that potentially means more titles where Kadokawa is involved will end up in Bandai USA's hands. While I'm not necessarily averse to that, it could entail Kadokawa's literature might go to VIZ Media via synergy (as was the case when Shakugan no Shana went to Geneon); what the world really needs is Kadokawa to set up a publishing company in the US to balance VIZ's hegemony, though I think "Kado-USA" is only an anime entertainment company at this stage.

Investing in Toei is likely for their live-action entertainment; only a fool would put a bleeding Talos on life-support, and Bandai-Namco already has an animation studio under their wing.

At this point, I would say One Piece is dead in America. Even if another company were to pick it up, they'd have to start with the very arc that killed a majority of the OP fanbase in Japan in the post-Arabasta period with such heavily religious overtones that it would have to be butchered. Skypiea is the "Planet Namek" of the OP anime.

Follow that up with the god-awful DBF adaption and the ugly W7/STA/EL arcs...even if a company invested a lot in OP, they can't escape Toei's own low production values. Compound that with OP's poor post-4Kids reputation as well as its original vices; a company would have a better chance at earning a solid return from an anime of Fairy Tail.

Maybe it means we will get to see a completed version of Slam Dunk and Air Master Rolling Eyes.

A company invest in company B while B invests in the company investing it? So the owner of Sunrise (which has probably had more Giant Robot titles to it than any other anime studio) is investing in what's arguably the most famous of all anime studios.
