Does anyone know if this is going to be miyazaki's last film?

Yes it will be he's going to retire after this flick, and then comeback after someone refers to him as old.....only to prove them all wrong and that he still has it. He's probably going to be working up until his very last breathe, some people are just like that.

This looks interesting. I'm looking forward to this upcoming Miyazaki film. I just hope it doesn't disappoint like Howl's Moving Castle did. Howl's wasn't bad, it just wasn't up to speed with his previous works.

Apparent spelling mistake: "Ioue" for "Inoue".

Whoa whoa, as much as I am geeked out about a new Miyazaki movie, I can't help but notice nay-sayers about Howl's Moving Castle. What was wrong with it? I found it to be like Princess Mononoke only easier on the darkness and Princess Mononoke was amazing!

Apparently, if nausicaa.net is correct, the film will be a thinly-veiled allusion to his relationship with Goro. I hope that doesn't mean it'll turn into a vanity project like Jersey Girl.

Princess Mononoke was a lot better than Howl's Moving Castle in my opinion. I'm not saying Howl's was bad. It's still very much worth seeing, I just didn't think it was up to par with Miyazaki's previous works. Especially because I didn't connect with it nearly as well as his other works. It just seemed to be missing a certain something. I didn't find the story very appealing, and Howl's wasn't as moving as many of his previous works like Spirited Away, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind or Mononoke. Nor was it as fun as Porco Rosso, Kiki's Delivery service or The Castle of Cagliostro.

That's my opinion.

Ick, me either. But I don't expect that to happen.

Although Japan does produce some crap, I don't expect it here.

I have a little more faith in the man than the beast.

The story is accused of plagiarizing works of Yasuhiro Nakura. Shocked

Really? Wow. I'm interested to see if anything comes of that accusation.
