| Well, they could use real fish eyeballs, for they are not only edible but considered as healthy to one's eyes and brain. Much more expensive than candies though (and will scare a lot of people away for sure). |

Heh, that's probably the main reason, along with the lack of that nifty color-changing feature and fish eyes' dissimilarity to a bloodshot human eyeball with arms and legs. As it is, the Asahi newspaper article half-jokingly said it looked real enough to make some children cry. |
