Yeah it was originally just a PS3 title in Japan but it's now being ported to the 360, I couldn't find anything about a PS2 version. It's probably a typo.

Gundam, Dynasty Warriors style?

NO WAI!

I just saw it's screenshots. It looks freakin' amazing.

Also, like Dynasty Warriors, are the text messages where the characters speak gonna have faces of people with voice overs?

You can get a sense of how dialogue is handled via text and voice at the official Japanese website's movie page. Just click on the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II or one of the other mobile suit mecha on the right side of the page. It's similar to previous Dynasty Warriors games.

I think there was a videos on this page that could probably help ya. I just don't remember which one exactly.
