I just wanted to say that I recommended to amazon that they change the title to "Complete Bootlegged Boxset" through their "update product info" link, with the intention of some fool proofreader picking up on it and maybe suggesting to his/her superiors that the item get pulled ... but apparently that person did not get it, and they just made the change freely.... how sad is that!?!?!  |

I just wanted to say that I recommended to amazon that they change the title to "Complete Bootlegged Boxset" through their "update product info" link, with the intention of some fool proofreader picking up on it and maybe suggesting to his/her superiors that the item get pulled ... but apparently that person did not get it, and they just made the change freely.... how sad is that!?!?! 8O |
I was wondering about that...since I submitted "Sailor Stars: The Completely Unofficial, Unlicensed, Bootlegged Box Set", and have yet to receive a response. I expected it to be rejected, but I thought I'd submit it anyway, on the off chance that Amazon would accept it, and for the reason you stated—that perhaps it would bring some attention to this from Amazon. |

You're alright there. They like to boost that they are not the same as .com, or that was their response they gave me when I asked how come .com had an item in stock , but not .co.uk?  |

I've submitted two reports to amazon so far; the first to tell them the set they were selling was a bootleg, the second to ask them if they knew what the term bootleg actually meant.  |

They probably don't know what the term "bootleg" means if they keep selling them. Anime Castle got smart. They were going to lose their advertising agreement with ANN if they didn't stop selling bootlegs. |

| I got a (human) response back from amazon customer service. The basic gist of it was that the information is being passed onto the people who are in charge of investigating product quality and legality for Amazon, and that the status of the item will be changed once they do an investigation. |

One of Evil Dead films had a DVD release called a "bootleg edition" a few years back... Maybe they thought it was something like that, a marketing gimmick? |

Seriously, I do hope they pull it off their site soon (although not before my friends see this... I sent them the link with the changed title for a good laugh). |
