I, for one, am looking forward to this. I don't know if it'll even be watchable, but I'm looking forward to it...
And maybe I'm the only one who never made the connection between Harry Potter and Negima until I started seeing it online a while back...
Harry Potter: Orphaned after evil wizard kills his parents, lives with wicked relatives, escapes to a magic school to learn magic, makes friends, fights evil... wears glasses.
Negi Springfield: His father is the "Thousand Master" one of the greatest wizards ever, and is currently missing. Graduated from a magic school at age 9, was sent to Japan to teach at an all-girls school, with a class of 31 students, some of whom want to rape him, while not being able to use his magic, as he will be turned into an ermine if his magic is discovered, while it turns out that many of the faculty, and his students, could tell he was a magician because they themselves are not your average humans either. Fanservice, demon-fighting, etc. ensues... wears glasses.
Yeah, I can see how any normal person would make the connection, and claim that Akamatsu Ken is cashing in on "Harry Potter", rather than simply using a fantasy theme for the same kinda story he always writes... first it was a nerd/computers, then a nerd/all-girl dormitory, now it's young clumsy wizard/all-girl school... he definitely ripped off someone else... not himself... |

For certian anime shows, yes. For this, though? Sorry, we just aren't 'there' yet.
Besides which, in the fairly freakin' messed up alternate dimension where shows such as Negima!? are highly-dought after imports for major broadcast/cable networks, they would still have to produce an American version. Therefore. Wait what? |

Which reminds me, I suppose the drama / movie will be more close to the first series of Negima than the new Negima!? The 2nd one seems to need so much... As for the matter of who's gonna be Negi, I'm just hoping they don't change Negi's nationality to Japanese like they did with Rey Phenber from Death Note movie. At least Rey was a minor character, but Negi...............
On a different matter, was the OVAs for Negima!? only planned for the spring and summer? Or are there other 2 that's going to come out later?? |

Negi will definitely be Japanese in the live-action version and I'm pretty sure he'll be older too. I'd say he'll played by someone between the ages of 16-23. |

Hmmm. This IS Mahou Sensei Negima Live Action, however all the cast will be quite different from the anime (judging from what i saw so far) so if anything this will be a twist to the usual series.
When i say twist i mean if negi will be older, it'll add alot of interesting points, but it will also take away lots of the "young-boy jokes and puns"
anyways my expectations for this series is not high but im still curious what'll be like. Anyone know a date of release? |

I concur, this is a country that has a chimpanzee in its White House that tried to jail TWENTY FIVE people at once for having hentai images on their hard drives. Though the supreme court subsequently stopped him from doing so, the law he passed that allowed this sentence has already put a man behind bars for the next 25 years. Good relief that the courts also had the sense to retract that law against that Chimp`s protests.
But that just goes to show that yes, in a country so conservative and paranoid as to elect a bible-bashing non-white-murdering intelectual subclass-genus as its president, chaste ecchi nudity series is just not gonna fly mainstream until pigs fly. |

Now onto some positives.
One aspect independent of CGI that can be done decently, if not wonderfully, is the Martial Arts Choreography.
Though a legion of genius choreographers is only a 2 hour flight away from Japan, from my good old-homeland Taiwan, here are a few that will DEFINITELY cost less than Mega-Computer-Generated Graphics, and can potentially save the show.
Hand To Hand Combat:
Master Yuen Woo Ping (Drunken Master, Once Upon A Time In China 1 and 2, Fist Of Legend The Matrix Kill Bill, Kung Fu Hustle, Iron Monkey, Unleashed, Fearless.)
Corey Yuen (Romeo Must Die, Kiss Of The Dragon, The One, X-Men)
Master Of The Sword
Nick Gillard (Indiana Jones Saga, Young Indiana Jones, The Phantom Menace, Attack Of The Clones, Revenge Of THe Sith)
Nicholas Powell (Braveheart, The Mummy, Gladiator)
Sonny Chiba (Kill Bill)
Master Yamazaki Kiyoshi (Conan The Barbarian)
Master Rob Anderson (A New Hope, Highlander, Lord Of The Rings)
Master Yuen Woo Ping (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon)
Next List Will Be Musicians That Can Help This Series.
A`ve A Good One Everybody!!
