The director doesn't like what was done?

Sounds like Highlander 2 all over again.

I hate the producers who think they know better and ruin movies.

Probably all the opening exposition to help us stupid American understand better. Even thought it's 13 dollars at best buy I am certainly going to wait until the Director cut becomes available. I am sure I will catch this on Sci-Fi eventually, so it's not a big difference. Also I don't think there can ever be a movie as awful/confusing as Highlander 2 and all of it's different cuts.

I completely agree with this post I am quoting.

And not even the Renegade edition could save Highlander 2. Sad (meaning that at least the new Highlander, no matter what is done to it, can be salvaged with a director's cut, and Highlander 2 could not be; too much was done in the opposite direction).

Didn't seem that way to me (if anything, one of the scenes that was removed was apparently a sequence where Amergan expands on something... but I can't really imagine what it could've been since he sort of went through everything anyway) ... in any case, I'm really wondering what else could've been on here... the pacing was actually quite nice and the movie didn't drag anywhere.

Still, I'm curious to see what was cut, so I'm double-dipping.

It won't be the last.

Yeah, I think I'll wait for the director's cut. Kawajiri has earned that from me. I mean, 7 or 8 whole scenes chopped out? That's pretty ridiculous.

After the whole Final Fantasy Advent Children release I am done double dipping, and since I know there's going to be a cut with English and Japanese on it then I am going to get that one. And seeing as how I can see this American Cut on Sci-fi I am not too worried about it.

I was actually quite close to coming to own 2 copies of the current DVD.

ANYWAY... if these scenes somehow improve the movie, I'm all for it... because, as is, it actually kicked a lot of ass.

The only thing that really worries me is if the pacing somehow gets thrown off as a result (because I've seen it like 3 times already and the movie was literally not boring to me during all those sittings)... but, I never know.

What? No "thanks to GATSU" for the link? Mad Anyway, it depends. If I hate it, I'll double-dip to see what they screwed up. If they did a decent job, I'll evaluate the second edition, based on the extras. But yeah, those producers at Imagi are morons.

Which reminds me:

Having "Princes of the Universe" as the ED song would almost automatically make the DC version better...

Yeah, why is the song missing? That's like the most puzzling thing about all this...

I wish someone asked about it specifically during the interview...

Maybe there were copyright issues. But then again, if Freddie can hang out in Cromartie High School then I don't see why one of his songs can't be in another anime. Razz

Figures several scences get cut so that we Merkins have a really uber cool Opening with extreme rock riffs and whatnot.

And people wonder why I like Anime and other Foreign TV Shows.
