I'm happy to see that too, though the wait is annoying. But that's the industry standard between release of a hardcover and a paperback so I'm not surprised.

Unless the book in question becomes insanely popular and sells very well in the hardcover format.

I am interested in what they mean by Anthology next to Warcraft and the the other one, 600 page graphic novel?

Same thing with Starcraft are these a bunch of stories have been collected into one big Anthology?

They recently released the last volume of Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy. I'm assuming they're referring to that. Never heard of Starcraft.

Do you mean the Shin Megami Tensei title? I'm really interested in finding out what that's about; I'm a big fan of the games.

Though Manga Sutra? Is that the title they made for it? Wow. I know Tokyopop slaps the term manga everywhere, but using it as a buzzword in a crappy translation seems like a new low. Not sure what the difference is between Futari H and Futari Ecchi, but the page had this interesting comment on the title. "The title Futari Ecchi ("two person ecchi") is a play on a slang term for masturbation, hitori ecchi ("single person ecchi")." Guess Tokyopop felt more like ripping off names from manga and kama sutra than going along the lines of that pun or leaving it untranslated. I would think most fans old enough to buy it know what ecchi or H

I was leaning towards the idea that "Manga Sutra" is a new line/imprint.

It's nice to know that GU+ is coming out but I still rather have some of the other books like Zero or .hack//analysis seeing as how Analysis is the official book that separates what is and what isn't cannon. Actually seeing as how Zero appears to be discontinued, I'd rather have GnU, Cell or Alcor now when I think about it.

Those last three seem to be the .hack titles in the most demand. It is nice to see that TP hasn't abandoned .hack, I just hope they're nice enough to pair G.U.+ with 4Koma. I also hope they're nice enough to get proper translations from Bandai Namco, they've been making way too many spelling errors, especially in the AI Buster books.

Because its Stu Levy's baby.

I kept hearing about Futari H, but now that i have heard the plot, it sounds kinda funny. It's a marrage sex comedy. Looking up the Wiki page, it seems there is 34! volumes.

I read the first few volumes after reading an argument on whether it was hentai or not. It's hentai, but the mangaka got clever and threw in some sex-ed material and comedy as well in an attempt to say, "it really isn't hentai." Some of the sex-ed material are drawings used so the mangaka to get around Japanese censorship laws (can't show reproductive organs). Clever, but it doesn't change the fact that this is a hentai title, nor does having comedy nor a story (no matter how interesting).

I stopped reading because I don't like hentai and it was clear after a few chapters that this was hentai (I think I read the first eight volumes just to be fair though).

Interestingly enough, "futari" means "couple" or "two people" so the title could be translated as "couple perversion" (that blurb about masturbation was the first time I'd heard this had anything to do with the naming of the title). "Ecchi" is the Japanese way of saying "H." However, in manga, the Japanese will actually use the letter "H" at times ("H" being short for "hentai") and at others, will actually spell it out as "ecchi."

So why rename it? I suspect a "Battle Vixen" type job on "Futari Ecchi" where TP took the ecchi fight manga "Ikki Tousen" and basically re-wrote it (its heavily domesticated). Also, I think TP is trying to disguise it by renaming it. Changing "Ecchi" to "H" in the title removes a word that some fans would recognize as indicating perversion (while claiming they aren't really renaming it because of the H-ecchi explanation above) and "Manga Sultra" to again attempt to disguise the fact that this is hentai (Oh no, it can't be hentai because it has educational items in here, though a lot is old and out of date today).

Nah, it's a seinen manga. Runs in the same magazine is Berserk.
Just because there's nothing in it but sex doesn't actually make it porn.

*LOL* That's like saying, "Just because I'm having sex with lots of women doesn't actually mean I'm cheating on my wife." As I said earlier, the mangaka was clever in getting this hentai title disguised. It is a hentai title, its just that the mangaka rides the border fence very hard at times. I've no doubt a lot of seinen (and likely shounen too, not to mention regular adult males) got "fappage" from this manga.

Oh, it's nice to know that there is more Princess Ai stuff. I do like it, so I've been watching for any news relating to it.

But I'm happier to hear about Mamotte Shugogetten. I have the first two manga in Japanese, and I want to see how what little I could figure out compare with the official Tokyopop translation.

It's an older title and as far as I know isn't based on any of the games.

I would have much rather have seen the Persona manga licensed, which is a pretty faithful adaption of the game which includes parts taken out of the U.S, Version of the game.

It's still interesting though, I didn't think any of the SMT related manga would ever be brought over.

A FLCL novel?! I must say I'm curious as to how the hell that works.

A crazy combo of acid and Cocaine fly off the pages. You get the full effect of being in not only FLCL but you're own anime show as well.

Yeah...I will admit I do have a friend who likes the books. i think she enjoys it more for the art moreso than the story. I haven't really looked at it moreso than the frist book but the art didn't really hit me.
