It should be against the geneva convention to try to have a battle of wits against an unarmed opponent.I will not even bother with a real response.
Back onto the subject matter.Guy was lucky he only got booted from the con.

Man, you must be like Daredevil or something where most of your senses are heightened.

Do nerf darts feel like REAL BULLETS to you?

yea because im not a sofcore pansy like people here Wink 'oooh mommy i got hit by za pie!' Rolling Eyes geez man...

No, I don't agree with that at all. Thinking like that doesn't make you 'harcore'. Or vice versa.

But you have shown that you use the same type of rational as this piss-ant Khyron. Which is to say, none.

If Schiller had thought of it in as good-natured a way as Tommy Yune, I'd think the ban was an over-reaction. As it is, though, I think it makes sense... Though technically successful, Schiller's plan really backfired (I mean, I don't watch Robotech, but thanks to Schiller, Tommy Yune is now officially my hero. His reaction was just amazing). From the impression I get of Schiller, he might take this badly and try something more serious another year.

Well, if he can, he won't be doing it at AX. If Yune goes to another con Schiller might try to follow him there. Like Otakon if he thought it would really be worth it.

Lets just hope he doesn’t have the funds to try this next year. According to his blog, he is already in finical trouble, by next year he could be homeless. That should effectively negate him as a threat to Mr. Yune.

I am just wondering how AX will ban him? Didn't something like 40,000 people go to it? Can you not buy tickets with cash, if not can't you have a friend buy tickets for you? Aren't most of the staff volunteers? Are there going to be wanted signs of him at every gate? Is there no such thing as hair die, hats, sunglasses, and oh my gosh cosplay!?

Another reason I think jail time and/or a fine would be appropriate. This ban is nothing but a gentle tap on the wrist. And if he wants to go next year virtually nothing will stop him.

And don't give me that photo ID crap please. That is easier to get around than sneezing. And no I am not going to tell you.

I think this guy is a total jerk. I don't understand why people get so upset over something so trivial as a TV show. I mean, to go as far as saying that he's a "Philosophical Preacher" or some such non-sense for Robotech is just stupid. The guy is a grade A nut job and deserves what he got, if not more. I have to ask, what is wrong with fandom today that they can get so entranced in something that it becomes not just a part of their life but, their life period? Sure, I agree that Robotech: Shadow Chronicles may not have been the best thing to ever come out of the franchise, but it's definitely not worth getting arrested over for putting a pie in someone's face. It looked like Mr. Yune wanted to smack the shit out of the guy. I'm surprised he didn't. I may not have been able to make such a good natured gesture towards the guy had that been me getting pied. He may not be the nicest guy in the world but, he's no corporate monster leeching off the fans or anything. It's like those same folks who make George Lucas out to be the equivalent of the Devil. Sure, Lucas is an ass for messing with an already good series of films but, it's no reason to assault him and it's his decision ultimately; just like it was Tommy Yune's decision to handle Robotech: the Shadow Chronicles the way he did. Actions may speak louder than words but, you've got to choose your actions carefully and wisely. An action may include boycotting something you don't like but shouldn't include possible physical/bodily harm on someone. As much as it might feel good in the beginning, you'll definitely be kicking yourself later on when the subpoena hits your mailbox. This also includes retaliating and smacking the guy who pied you unfortunately.

Only idiotic trolls like yourself would think(and i use the word think very loosely when it comes to trolls like yourself.Think means you have some sort of intelligence which i do not give credit to trolls) in this fashion.Plus idle comments do not frighten me in the least.Find your bridge that you crawled out under from and move back under it and refrain from coming back out again.

That's probably because he's wasting his money, time and effort trying to get into this argument with Tommy and the other guys involved with Robotech, no wonder it's taking a toll on his finances. It's called an addiction. And it's probably not going to go away for a while, but hopefully his finances can prevent him from going to Otakon.

All I am trying to do is help you recover your common sense, if you ever had any. I'll just give you the benefit of the doubt, out of courtesy.

So it doesn't matter what the weapon was, as long as there was a negative intent behind it, right? Man, that's good to hear. I'll make sure that next time I get into an angry pillow fight I will press charges against my adversary. The pillow was harmless, but I could FEEL his killing intent!

Maybe together, we can end all conflict on Earth.

Ok SdS let me pose this to you.
Instead of Tommy Yune you are in his place. You find that this smacks you in the face with a pie(and goes to a great length to do..by his own words..read his post about it)Are you ok with it?Would you laugh at it?This guy went out of his way because he disagrees with you because on the company you work for handling of a animated show license.
I am going to take a stab at this and going to say that you would fine it perfectly fine and laugh at it from your previous responses. Some people might chuckle at it and some might find it fine and some might be ok with both(most wouldn't though judging by the responses in this thread).
To do what this guy did(and even wrote in his own words) is not acceptable in regular society. That is why so many people are saying what they are saying. It is not "perfectly normal behavior".It is ok to be passionate about what you like.It is ok to disagree with on how companies might do things. But what this guy did is not ok nor is it acceptable. It doesn't matter what the guy used to make his point the guy went and did it intentionally(and went to great lengths to do it).

That's the thing though. Tommy Yune didn't read his posts or see his blog or any of that. He saw a guy who he's probably never seen before come up to him with a video camera and say "I don't like what you've done with Robotech, but let bygones be bygones" followed with a lame ass pie to the face. Maybe if you know the guy's insane ahead of time you're not okay with it, but you don't. How is it possible to take being pied as a serious threat?

Once again put yourself in Tommy's place.Guy comes up to you and says that and then proceeds to smack you in the face with a pie?Are you ok with it?I would personally think the guy is a fruitcake(since i have no real clue about him).I would have defintely called secuirty and have this guy taken care of.

I did put myself in Tommy's place. How can you get pissed off at being pied? Notice how he returned the pieing and proceeded to take pictures with the guy. If your immediate reaction is to press charges against the guy then you've got a serious case of having your head up your ass and being unable to laugh at yourself.

I personally would not have pressed charges(never said i would).
Plus if AX does not do something to people who do this sort of thing(people who go up to guests or industry guests and pie them or something similiar..could have pulled out a weapon..you never know just saying) then it gives permission to others that they can do it.Cons need to draw a line in the sand on behavior.Otherwise one of two things will happen A)Going to con would be like going thru an airport.Everything that is deemed unsafe will be confiscated.Or B)Cons will cease to exist anymore.I am sure most people who have gone to cons enjoy a lot of freedom but fans have started to go to far and need to show a bit of restraint.Enthusiam is good but there is a fine line that shouldn't be crossed.
