I liked the first volume enough to pick up the second...and then the third, without finding time for either.
When I finally sat down and read the second and third volumes, I loved both of them.
I'm not sure if I'm just more predisposed to like this kind of material than the reviewer, or if the later volumes completely overcome the shortcomings of the first volume, but I'm definitely loving the series now. |

| Maybe you need to be exposed to the campy horror of the 70's and 80's, but I freaking loved this book. The art is fairly well balanced with decent backgrounds and attractive character design. Besides, how can you not like a story with a gothic princess from hell that finds a different and flashy way to kill all of her enemies? |

| Unless Del-Rey hands the series off to another set of translators/adapters/letterers (ie. whoever screwed this one up), I think I'll be passing on subsequent volumes. I started reading this V1 a week ago and I just couldn't force myself to get through to the end...it read like a poorly done scanlation. |

The first volume of this manga was great, laced with smooth art and chock-full of interesting and funny characters. I don't exactly see how a critic could give this anything BUT an A...  |
