Oh wow, these three-in-one omnibus collections sound great - larger size and color inserts! But this hurts because I already have all the volumes of Kenshin. Sad

The Death Note novel is really really good - and I'm not just saying that because I translated it.
They had the brains to go get NisiOisin, one of the best writers in Japan, and he nailed it.

I thought it was official when they anounced it at that miptv thing

There is that, but I meant official as in they announced it, I guess.

And about the RK omnibus: If they do it in threes, won't there be one extra volume (namely the last volume)?

As long as there are no "creative decisions" on swapping music or replacing OP and EDs, awesome!

Now this becomes the question if the release pattern for Honey and Clover and NANA will be similar to Full Moon (which means quarterly release which is kind of bad especially for NANA) or a normal bimonthly release.

Sweet! I've been waiting forever to see Honey and Clover ever since I've heard such good things about it. Nana is exciting, too, since I loved Paradise Kiss. Good news, good news. Very Happy

Wow, con-season has been awesome! Darker than BLACK, Emma, Honey and Clover, Ouran, Nana, and Code Geass are all great licenses for me!

EDIT: oh cool, and the 3:1 omnibus for Kenshin. Maybe I can catch up with the manga now, since I stopped around 6 or something.

I bought the omnibus 1-3 volume of Tsubasa and it only cost 12.95 (which is the price of one individual volume).

Hopefully the price for the omnibus Kenshin manga will be reasonable.

It's good to hear that NANA and Honey & Clover are coming to America. They are both great anime that needs to be shared with the world; Ai Yazawa being the wonderful storyteller that she is and Honey & Clover hitting close to home.

I'm curious to see how they'll cast NANA. Will they do it the Japanese cast way with a different speaking and singing voice? Or will they just cast one person to do both? I'm crossing my fingers for good casting.

Actually, I'm crossing my fingers for both anime for good casting. Anime smallmouth;

Wow! Announcements for 2 anime I consider personal top 5 favorites!? I had already been waiting for an announcement for the release of Honey and Clover and I was wondering when someone would finally announce NANA and here I hear about them both in a single report. Hell yeah!

As for Nana, it's not surprising in the least. It was only a matter of when. I thought the same thing for Ouran, but still... Confused

You know Ouran was just licenced, right? animenewsnetwork.com/news/2007-07-20/funimation-gets-ouran-sasami

It really was just a matter of time with NANA though, especially since we pretty much knew from that earlier announcement that Viz had it.

I'm curious about the DB/DBZ 3-in-1 re-releases. Hopefully these releases will be more like the kanzenban (new Toriyama cover art, color page inserts, less editing)

If these are unedited, I'll have to double-dip, dammit.
