Please tell me Birds of Prey #1 outsold Sailor Moon, otherwise I foresee Gail Simone having an ulcer.

Do we have exact numbers BTW?

What in the who now?

It's one of the comics for the DC 52 relaunch, and the key bit is that the women are competent and they try to avoid things that are considered stereotypically girly at all costs.

Hey I like Birds of Prey, and I would disagree about the avoiding anything girly, it's just a lot more about women superheroes fighting crime who aren't reduced to the "sexy femme fatale" cliché. At least under Gail Simone it was, don't know about how Swierczynski is going to write the team. (I mainly read these comics when they are collected in the Trade Paperbacks).

But I wouldn't be surprised if Birds of Prey outsells Sailor Moon over here, even with all the Sailor Moon fans in America, this is still the home country for the DC line, so bigger fanbase.

Though I am really happy that Sailor Moon is selling so well, and will continue to pick up all the 12 published volumes. I wish One Piece was higher up on the list, but at least it's making the top 10 now. And xxxHOLIC I will continue to ignore you, because I don't like your ending and am content with my 16 volumes already.

And whoa boy is it a mini culture shock to see Stan Lee listed as an author to a manga series.

"Fighting evil by moonlight,
Winning love by daylight,
Never running from a real fight,
She is the one, she's Sailor Moon!"

Seriously, I never got a chance to watch the series, but I always loved the theme song. My inner 10-year-old will always love that kind of Girl Power! Go Sailor Moon! Smile Hope the show comes back, too!

Wow, Kodansha has four spots in the top ten. I hope Sailor Moon earns them bucket loads of cash. Maybe then they can afford to go back and continue some of those lower selling Del Rey titles, like Nodame Cantabile.

What, I want is Alive: The Final Evolution to start up again. And I thought Nodame cantabile was popular? I guess its just in Asia.

And I think Naruto is so low because this is the 'bromance' volume where Naruto confesses his undying love to Sasuke spoiler[ and he admits he wants to die with him. ]

Not many fanboys want that confession I don't think Anime hyper

Ooh, me too, me too!

Seriously, Alive: The Final Evolution is a solid series, but I think it deserves special consideration since Tadashi Kawashima put in so much effort to finish the series before his untimely death in 2010. His last work should at least be completed with KodanshaUSA's release.

(I'd also love to see more volumes of Ai Tanaga's brilliant shojo parody My Heavenly Hockey Club! Very Happy )

Naruto's popularity isn't going anywhere, don't worry!
