This is some awesomely good news! I had rented the first disc of GSG and loved it so much that I bought the entire boxset. Phenomenal show.
My only disappointment was that it's so short, so I randomly Googled "Gunslinger Girl second season", and lo and behold, I'm taken to ANN's announcement of a second season. Sweetness.
I haven't read the manga, and I'm glad, so I'll have something to look forward to. I don't even know who Pinnochio is, but everyone acts like it's a good thing that he's in it.
This is another must buy anime for me, in any case. |

Great to have another fan among us. You should really try and read the mangas (all 5 of them ), they really set things up for what the second season could be like, including Pinoccio. All i can say is that it's a great story arc that really jumps out at you.
Plus, everyone knows that mangas tell so much more story that animes may not. Having said that, I'm still wondering if they'll show how Triela came to the agency. Volume 4 really shocked the hell out of me when it was reveiled, but I think it's a story that needs to be told to really know what these kids must go through.
So get the volumes when you get the chance, k???
Good luck. |

Hm, so you think it's worth spoiling the next anime season to read the manga? I'm not sure I agree, but I'll think about it.
Thanks for the welcome, btw. I'm really glad I found this site. |

I think it's worth reading. For starters besides the Pinocchio Arc, which they're using as a marketing tool (and a smart one), there's been no confirmation on what will or will not also make it into the second season. So there might be some parts in the manga you'd never see in the anime. Plus they may present the material in a different order for some of the parts or do something different to help differentiate it from the manga. Plus in simpler terms it's a damn fine manga.
And welcome to ANN, glad you're enjoying yourself so far. |

I totally agree, it's worth the read if you get the chance. And it's like he said, there will be things the manga will show the the anime won't.

Well, my plan is to watch the second season first, then buy the manga and read it. I just saw an ad for volume 5 of the manga, and I'm really looking forward to reading the whole series. I'm patient, though.....uh, yeah....I'm patient. |

| It is going to be a bit of wait for the second season, since it's for next spring. I definitely plan on getting the manga ASAP. |

It well worth it, the artwork is great as always and the multiple stories are awesome. I found out things in the manga that the anime didn't cover.
Have fun. |

*Search your feelings. You KNOW it to be true* Hehe..... Actually, I would be willing to read the manga as far as it covers the first season, or vice-versus as I know the manga came first.
I'm more of a "moving pictures" kinda guy, so I want to see the 2nd season before reading the corresponding manga volumes. |

| Then basically you'd want to read volumes 1-3 and stop. Don't read 4+ if you don't want to read any season 2 material. There's the barest start of some material at the end of volume 3 but nothing much. |

I don't care. I'm going to read the manga as it comes out. And when the series arrives on California's Sunny Shores, I'm going to watch that too.
And I'm going to do both with complete and utter enjoyment! |

Yeah, I was hoping you or someone would volunteer that information; so thank you very much.
Then again, maybe I should have just come out and asked for the info, huh? |
