i wonder if this helps the case of those who say they get their anime free. sure everyone pays for an internet connection- but so do the downloaders.
Just a thought. |

I wonder why they insist on the stupid IE / WMP combination for DRM on something that's free to begin with. Then again, maybe it's a good thing, since you can't find this movie floating around the Internet for free in fansub or raw form |

On the subject of the movie, am I the only one who thought it was a bit insulting to the series? I kind of liked that Yukito made it to the end with Misuzu and Haruko, but everything else was just so much weaker than the series, including the character designs. The series had its winning and losing points, but it seemed like it had a vision and followed it. The movie, although cut shorter and following only Misuzu's story, cannot get across the same emotion and flow that the series can. All choices made are weaker, IMO. For example, I much prefer the way Yukito meets Misuzu in the series, as it lets her personality shine through and isn't all dull. In the show, Misuzu just flat-out approaches because she wants a friend, showing her courage. The movie's report/study/whatever thing cheapened the effect.
Well, it was actually kind of funny when the movie slammed the series' use of Misuzu's catchphrase "gao", but when they slammed her cute little laugh afterward... that I didn't appreciate.
Makes it sound like I didn't like the movie. I found it okay, in fact. I'd recommend anyone who saw the series to see the movie. See the series first, however. Seeing the movie first will kill some of the effect. |
