As a Christian myself, I think this is a great idea, assuming they stick to the NLT translation of the bible. I wouldn't like it if every two pages they made Jesus turn into a robot and kill people, ect.
And yes, most Christians don't like anime. It's produced by a country that is largely non-Christian, and frankly most of it doesn't glorify the Christian God. But this is a good idea. I know people who like the anime art style, but can't stand actual manga or anime on television. This isn't anime, it's anime-style art in the Bible. |

Oh, wow. Does something need to be produced in a Christian country and must it glorify the Christian God in order to be good and enjoyable? (Not to mention that there are anime/manga out there which, while not Christian per se, touch on basic Christian ideas and virtues, or even conform to them.) As for me, I'm not too enthusiastic about this project - I hope I'm wrong, but it seems to be a simplified version of the more famous Biblical stories, put in manga format because that's what the kids like nowadays. I admit that I'm not particularly religious (I'm a Roman Catholic by baptism), but as I have a (mostly aesthetic) interest in Christianity, I can't say I'm averse to manga or comics in general dealing with Christian themes and stories. But as huangm777, I'd also prefer to see an intelligent, interesting, "original" interpretation of the Bible, rather than a preachy, watered-down summary of the stories. I'm a religious person but I don't like to be preachy about this stuff it's my stuff only and it's my faith only . The bad thing with this thing its that it's preachy x D; and make all of us look like that ( well Christians in general make all catholic or from any other similar religion look like that... ) I wouldn't care in fact I would buy the thing ( cause has Japanese artist on it! Japanese SHOJO artist! D=!)
But always it's preachy and "if you do not give monay to the church ya'll hell witch! and more if you have forbidden thoughts LIKE EVOLUTION!!" And Jesus Christ x D he wasn't like that, Christians and Constantino make him like that ! D=! BUT ( I don't think so...) Maybe it can be different and maybe it's just a biographical manga which then It would be good and everyone could be happy. Now... I hope Yaoi fan girls don't start "zomg omg I'm so hot Judas betraayy Jesus and Jesus KISSED HIM ZOMGOMG FTW BBQ!!!111222" D= |

I've never been able to understand why some people act as if everything in the whole of creation should revolve around their religion. To be perfectly frank, everything that exists and serves to promote creativity and positive action glorifies God for the simple fact that it makes the world a better place. That which brings joy without causing sorrow is generally good. Can you tell I'm really open-minded about this sort of thing? Although I think I'll pass on Bible Yaoi fanfic. That's just. . . freaking disturbing.

This is is such a strange idea. I know they've done this before but man. It always strikes me as really strange. It'll be awesome to see the Bible animated by cool people not just people who make cartoons staring vegetables. The cool unadulterated Bible with blood and awesome crap happening like tongues of fire coming out of the sky. They need to take every single world literally because that would be awesome to see.
The parting of the waters, talking/burning trees. This sounds like it could be one of the most amazing anime ever. |
