I hadn't known about the Anime Adult Industry losing those companies.
Green Bunny and Pink Pineapple were pretty good. That's too bad. Anyway, I'll say I've also been one to download series, but I'm done with that. I started deleting, and then started buying... I'm no longer supporting piracy. I mean, you guys can do what you want, but what will happen when it's not available anymore? Regardless, smut or no smut...a series is a series. >.> |

| Some one finally said it! How will everyone feel when no more R1 hentai is available anymore because of piracy... When its just not worth it for companies to buy it. I know you may say to your self, that wont happen. RS/CM, ASM, MB, JA there strong companies.... Piracy is that big of a deal. Piracy does effect all of us that much, and believe it or not, it has already effected you that much. You might not see it, you don't know what you missed out on, because a company chose not to buy something. Piracy is hurting the bottom line of many companies adult and non adult. Every person has to decide for them selves what they will do. Just remember the decisions you make today, be it large or small, will effect what happens in the future. |

| Ok, so unauthorized H-downloads are bad, but what about bootlegging them in clear daylight?
Mr. Kleckner may be interested to know that virtually every Nu-Tech, Anime 18 and Kitty title has been released as a bootleg (including copied packaging) in Europe. This is done by a company called Silver Star, based in Greece. By now, they must've made millions by ripping off R1 H-releases. I wish you the best of luck in demanding compensation and eliminating them from this world. |

| Hmm...
I bought the Death Note movie, thinking it was legitimate, because they were selling it in my local mall, had a UPC code and everything... >.>; But I'm wondering now... er..I guess they can imitate that too? |

It wouldn't affect me one bit unless the company that distributes non-erotic titles goes under as a result. |

Thats nice...
Yeah things are lookin bleak...I hope there never comes a point where companies stop licensing, because nothing profitable was made because the pirates keep pirating. What to do what to do... |

Well, I watch hentai now and then, but I've never bought any. Still, I would really hate for honest, hard-working people to lose their jobs because of some cheapskate pirates. That's never alright. On a more pessimistic note, I don't think the fansubbers and illegal downloaders would even bat an eyelid. Even if every hentai company in the US went under, there would still be hentai fansubs. |

And what was that exactly now? All I see is this: Companies refuse to bring in the smut that people want. Online "Illegal" sources provides just that. Companies cry and moan that online guys are providing what the consumers want. If the companies can't give what the consumers want, then they have no right to cry when people don't buy their smut. I'd gladly pay for a tangible item, but they need to make the incentive to get said tangible item worth it. I don't buy a yaoi tape to see some guy [expletive] another guy with a plastic dildo that looks like a corn cob, I wanna see the real thing damn it!! |

To a certain extent, that is true. Even some hentai that has been distributed in the US has been censored somewhat. I've heard that parts of the La Blue Girl anime have been cut out in English, but I'm not sure if it was done the same way in the Japanese version. Lessee..Bible Black had a section called the "Imari Arc" that might not even be brought to the US on DVD. In addition, that was only available in the Japanese Boxed set, which was limited. But yeah, I'm just sportin out an example. And technically, companies still have a right to complain because sometimes the Japanese companies do ask their licensed distributors to cut some content out. I've heard about this in regular anime, so I'm not surprised if it's done in hentai. The English companies can't have a say in it, so what goes, goes. |

That makes no sense. If these companies weren't providing them what they wanted, why the hell would they be downloading the DVD rips? |

See Anime Prime's No Editing Zone for details, though unfortunately Mr. Lazar no longer has the time to maintain the site.
For details on the "Imari Arc" (Imari Hen—a closer translation would be "Imari Chapter" or "Imari Volume", but it is best known under the first title), see the Bible Black fan site "The Ninth Circle". My understanding is that it is only a few minutes long, but I would like to have it released in Region 1. |

| So let me see if I understand you correctly:
The companies provide a product that is not what people want. This makes people so mad that they not only don't buy the product, they actually download this product (even though they do not want it) just so they can have screwed over the company by seeing it without paying, even though this doesnt actually make any difference to the company since they wouldnt have paid for it anyway since they don't want to see it. |

But the earlier arguments on this thread dealt with the high cost vs the small amount of content (30-60 minutes). Granted, my experience with porn was small & ancient (When I first married, my husband rented a few titiles, but didn't like them because the plots were non-existant & the acting was horrid-Deep Throat, Debbi, Green Door. A neighbor also expressed dislike for most porn & swore by the Swedish Eroticas which were basically 3 20-minute Penthouse letters ("Pool guy!""Can you clean my pool?")-straight to the sex (who needs plot?) So I'm used to the idea of little content (3 20 minute eps would be 1 hour) & in that day at least, the people I knew that bought porn had their certain tastes so they didn't need to "preview" anything-they went off the product description on the back or reviews or recs from the clerks at the adult bookstore. One or 2 went for a "collection", but most were happy with less than a dozen tapes & would unload excessive tapes since they ended to only watch a few they preferred, . |

I wouldn't call it an "arc," per say. It's some 10-minute extra to the Japanese Bible Black collection spoiler[where Imari gets stuffed by some random school guy]. Edits, on the other hand:
