I need to convince all my friends to buy DVDs. One of my friends has NO money on her and another friend of mine is busy. This isn't good! My dad recently bought H*llsing Ultimate volume 1. I hope Geneon releases more Shounen Onmyouji! I want more people to get into it so Geneon can be saved! Sorry about that.

Sorry to burst your bubble but buying Geneon releases now won't do a thing to save them. They've stopped taking orders so sales at this point are just you buying stuff Geneon has already distributed to stores. Its not like they're going to suddenly get tons of orders pouring in if their stuff starts to sell well because they have already said they aren't taking any more orders.

Also, the bigger problem is that regardless of how their stuff is selling, they don't have anyone to distribute it. Unless they get a deal with some other company to distribute it they're done for.

While this is true sales now could still have an impact. Their goal is to get companies to pick their titles up, or at least some of them right? Well if you got 2 titles and one is still selling more which one do you think will be picked up? So sales now could still have an effect later in terms of a show being picked up or not. Maybe it won't but it could.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree, so I'm doing the whole Geneon purchases first as well. It may not do anything, but I'm delusional enough to think we might possibly have an impact on whether other companies choose to license/distribute for Geneon. Besides, it just makes good sense even if not, because that way I'm sure to get what may soon not be available.

Thats true. I'm still concerned though that it will be tough for those increased numbers to actually reach anyone if you're just buying from stores and those stores arent placing more orders as a result.

By all means though, buy Geneon. Its not gonna hurt, and if theres anything they have you think you might ever want to own, you better get it now since who knows if or when you will be able to once the current stock is depleted.

Sorry if I'm being stupid. But...although Geneon's saying they won't distribute any more DVDs, I'm seeing stuff on Amazon about to be released like Traumend volume 1 or Shounen Onmyouji volume 3. I wonder if they're wrong (Amazon, I mean).

I usually get replies in a couple days to emails, but it's usually employees (I've heard from Brandon a couple times)

This is horrid.
I need $97 for this month's Got Anime coupon ($7 off), but all I can find is manga to pre-order with Super Robot Wars. Everything non-Geneon or Bandai Visual I've already talked myself into waiting for a box. In order for the coupon to work well, one needs to use it on as few items as possible. ($3.50 each off 2 items, $1 each off 7 items).
Each licensee has their personality, what they license tends to follow a pattern of what works for them. There's no reason to expect any of them to pick up Geneon's slack & license their style outside the big ones everyone wants to get their hands on (Hellsing, Black Lagoon. Karin might get picked up by ADV since they favor fan service aimed at guys)

Growl.

You're not being stupid. Amazon probably hasn't gotten around to changing the dates or removing the listing entirely.

At this point in time, they are not coming out. As much as I'd like SO to continue since I've started the series but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I will settle for Geneon releasing SO and Kyo Kara Maoh! Second Season in Subtitle only format if that's the only way I can get it to complete the series.

Traumend volume 1 is out. I have it right now(Thanks Anime Corner Store). SO volume 3 is not coming because it's release date was after Nov. 6 Sad

You're a bit behind the times, sweetie. We've known that for some time now.

It is a good series. All we can do is be patient and hope that they will be able to reorganize and release, at least, the unfinished series.

Actually the KKM 7 & SO 3 are due out the week after the cutoff, though I'm hoping they'll come out. How the hell did they pick that date? Why not the end of a month?
