The Basara manga has nothing to do with Sengoku Basara.

I actually managed to check this out while in Japan. EVERYONE was cosplaying... at least everyone who was there for the convention and not for the Studio. I, sadly, couldn't find any anime aside from a few TVs set up in some of the old Edo homes that were playing trailers over and over again. But it was interesting to see the people who were supposed to be dressed up (ie employees) interacting with those who dressed up for fun.
