You guys are silly. It's impossible to use a laser on a pumpkin. First off, lasers get ridiculously hot and would shoot through a pumpkin skin and kill it to oblivion. Second off, why would you invest in a laser to, uh, cut pumpkins? All the entries could be done with normal knifes, scrapers, clay tools, etc, etc. So, yeah. =D

I r Tiffany Manns and my entry is Nell Tu from the recent arc in the BLEACH manga. Yep.

Thar ya' go: http://img.qj.net/uploads/articles_module/94361/bleach_qjgenth.png?101145

Anna Park's

That's the lovely Tao Jun from Shaman King (also featured in my av). It's a horrible picture because I've got shaky hands and couldn't hold the camera steady long enough for the length of the exposure time, and I couldn't get the shot right if I set it on something. We were going to try to take another picture the next night, but someone smashed the pumpkin in >.<

Oh and I'm almost positive Lia Masters's is the Sayuki gang.

Anyway, great work, everyone! Some of these carvings are just mind blowing - I love the xxxHoLiC pumpkins and the FLCL one!

Yeah, mine is the four guys from Saiyuki. I used an X-Acto knife for carving it and it worked surprisingly well, if a little time consuming.

In reply to where my pumpkin ideas came from:
Only one of them is an anime. The flaming pumpkin is the scene in episode 15 of Gurren Lagann where Lord Genome's head is on fire.
The only one is from a game.

& by the way, Stephanie Kurniawan wasn't the only one to carve something other than a pumpkin. My Mushishi entry was carved on two honeydew melons. I really wish I'd planned it better & spent more time with it. It had a lot of promise but ended up too sloppy, in my opinion. Carving a honeydew is not easy. Next year: Lasered papaya!!!

Oh wow a honeydew? o___O That's seriously hard. How did you manage to cut so well into the rind?

Congratulations on the winners! Those were some fabulously awesome pumpkins. Looks like it would've been a tough choice for the judges. The detailing is incredible.

Thanks, ANN, for holding the contest again this year. I was getting worried that you might not have it. Nicer prizes this time, too!

Wow, that's three years in a row that you've been a winner!

How brutal was it? Fisticuffs? Congratulations to Rider G, Justin Kittler, Henna, & last, but certainly not least, the amazing Jenna Singleton.

See ya next year!

No, just very hard for each of us to pick 5 winners. There were so many awesome entries, it was hard to chose.

And as such, our lists didn't match, so it came down to Bamboo and I trying to combine 10 lists, with about 20 entries on them, into 5 winners and put those 5 winners in order.
