Justin, does this mean that you're not at ImaginAsian now? Or just that you're making ANN a fulltime committment, in addition to ImaginAsian stuffs?

No, I am now full-time at ANN, and there's not enough of me to be full-time in both places. I do still help out iaTV occasionally, tho.

I'm one of the lucky ones who bought ADV's Neo-Tokyo DVD release as soon as it came out. I remember it being rather cheap, actually--a little less expensive than the average anime DVD at the time. Is that true or am I just being delusional?

Well... the title was priced at $24.95, but Best Buy typically had it for $12.99-$14.99, which is where I picked up my copy. I'm glad I did, I didn't know it had gotten rare! It's amazing that it's out of print already, this title was only released in 2004. 3 years isn't so long ago!

Congratulations on the anniversary, Justin. I always look forward to Buried Treasure, and am glad that it's going weekly. Please give the nod to "Little Norse Prince" or "Marine Express" one of these days!

I've read every Buried Treasure segment (along with both Buried Trash spin-offs) and enjoyed the chance to glimpse anime that most people wouldn't give a second thought to. It's a great column, and I think you'll be able to keep it going for a long while.

Can't believe it's been a year already. ^^ Congratulations! I must say this is my favorite column on ANN now. Keep up the great work!

I'm actually kind of surprised to hear that the DVD ADV put out went OOP after its release. I always thought it had a somewhat larger print run.

Anyways, I don't recall exactly what made me seek out this title, but I do remember buying it from Suncoast thinking it was on sale, which it wasn't. That disappointment was lost as soon as I finished it. As a whole, it was quite good, and I found "Labyrinth * Labyrinthos" and "The Order to Stop Construction" excellent, and "The Running Man" pretty good.

I think I just found what I'll be showing in one of the club's random spots next year...

And Justin, congratulations on the one year anniversary of the column. It's opened up my eyes to some things I never would've found out about, and I look forward to future installments.

bci: If it's anything like Puni Puni Poemi, I'd imagine ADV would re-sell the Nadesico movie with something else to get rid of inventory.

I just wanted to say that Buried Treasure has become one of my favorite columns on the site. I know that whenever I pick something to watch from your reccomendations that I'm in for a treat. I hope the column sticks around and thanks for taking the time to write it ^^

I know it's been mentioned a lot, but I can't believe it's already been a whole year. Your column is always a pleasure to read (even the buried garbage!)

All I could find was a used VHS on Amazon and a fansub with French subtitles. So I signed up for Netflix's free 2 week trial just to see it.

Yea. Neo Tokyo is a real gem. Labirynth Story is my favorite. That segment set me off on a little Rintaro binge.
And Otomo's Construction Cancellation Order is really amazing. The animation is so detailed.

I got a copy of the ADV dvd on ebay a few months ago for 6 bucks. A real bargain, huh. Just keep your eyes on ebay- and a copy will turn up.

Looks like you're going to have to update this one, Justin. AOD
says they're releasing it as a two-pack with New Fist of the North Star.

True, I just picked the two-pack up last night from my local Best Buy. I saw it on the shelf and, having remembered Justin's article, I grabbed it right away.
