I have to admit, I was thinking the same thing. Cute girls and a maybe a little fan service on a tissue box, how convenient. Next they'll be pre cutting holes in the top of the cup ramen lid. Oh, those crazy Japanese. Emerje |

Japan has already been there and done that, unfortunately. This is japan's most recent reinvnetion of the cup noodle.
My sentiments, as well. |

| Hmm...I think if I want Anime characters on my tissues, I'll just print off images from ye ole internet and slap 'em on my box with glue or tape. Perhaps it's not officially licensed but the cost of shipping for one of those tissue boxes from Japan makes the cheap novelty item not so cheap. And this way one could have any combination of any anime characters they like! (I'll second Ryo-ohki) | ||||||||

| Wait.. why would fans need tissue boxes with these characters on it.
... Oh. Oooooooh, that's why. ... Ew. Meanwhile, the coolest tissue boxes I've seen in the US were some Ratatouille ones I saw somewhere and picked up. I almost hate to use them. I gave one to my roommate and he just has it sitting around unopened too. They give out small tissue packets like crazy in Japan. I guess I chalk it up to the Japanese culture's cleanliness. I saw it when I was on vacation, in both downtown Tokyo and Machida. They put ads on them and hand them out on the street. They usually have flyers too. Sometimes they just handed out flyers. I tried to avoid those people and just get a collection of random tissue ads. |

| This is pretty cool, but not too shocking. I have Precure tissues from a trading figure box [they came in a little pouch that looks like the holder they hold their cell phone things in], they're really cool but I can't get myself to use them. They're too cute. | ||||||||

| I wouldn't buy them because every time when the flu season comes I end up consuming thousands of tissues just to blow my dang runny nose. If I were to buy them then I'll find myself with a lot of unhappy empty boxes. But hey, for those who collect them as novelty items will have a great sum of money on their hands to the point when the Earth's resources start to diminish and we would have to conserve paper. | ||||||||

My roomate is from Tokyo and told me that he makes his money during the summer handing out tissues at train stations. He said the tissue packs have company logos on them. Aparently it's a very popular marketing technique there. |

You know I was thinking about this today, and I feel an Azumanga Daioh panel is necessary.

Yes, I wonder now if that's what some of the people at the manufacturer had in mind for their product |
