It's a sequel to Persona 3, set a decade or so after the game. |

I can't wait for this series. Does anyone know if the game expansion factors into the story of the anime at all? Are we even getting the expansion?  |

Looks to me as if they may have removed the suicidal elements. In the shot where the persona is coming out of the main character, there's no gun (or 'Evoker' if you prefer) in his hand.
NaJ: As I understand it, the expansion just adds things like extra social links, items (and hopefully missions?) into the original game. I heard one of the English voice actors for the original game wrote something in his blog about reprising his role for the expansion, but I don't know for sure. |

The expansion (Persona 3 FES) also includes Episode Aegis, which follows SEES's quest to discover exactly what happened during the final battle between the protagonist/other self and Nyx, and their struggle between deciding whether or not to change the main character's fate.
There's no confirmation from Atlus whether or not we are getting FES yet, though they did say that if we are they'll have to make a couple artistic changes to get past the censors (ie. Mara in all its phallic glory). |

The quality of the animation indicates that this isn't going to be some cheap game-turned into-anime *cough*Disgaea*cough* The persona that the main character had vaguely reminded me of the one Tatsuya had in Innocent Sin, can't wait to see what the other personae will look like.
I still have mixed feelings about this, I would've been more excited if this were a continuation of the game since it will be easier for me to connect with the characters, but I think I'll see first what the majority's reaction will be before checking this. |

In the game we've seen Persona manifest themselves without the use of an Evoker. I'm sure there's issues with control if they aren't summoned right, but the Evoker was never necessary for them to appear in the game. |
