Love the descriptions.

Oh, if only Oniisama E would be available in this country for real... still appreciated the random plug for it though. Razz Definitely not a series for the big brother type at all... could possibly turn him gay.

Funny you brought up Hawthorne Heights, as I forwarded a recent article about Casey Calvert's death, and it mentioned he was an anime fan.

Oh what I wouldn't give for Oniisama E to come out over here... I'm hoping one of the companies that are releasing those nice little sub only boxes will grab it up but it's a stretch

Haha!! Great job- I seriously cracked up at some of this. Especially the line involving "Go-Gurt." Also I didn't know there was a neat-looking complete set of Princess Tutu! I'd like to pick that up! ^^

Oh geez.... The Death Note one had me rolling. Almost everyone I know who enjoys Death Note fits that description perfectly.

I might have to look into buying Air for my brother....I think he has the potential to enjoy moe.

Oh man, don't get Piano for you grandma unless you hate her. The anime is awful. Get her Someday's Dreamer instead.
I think I may get that Princess Tutu thinpack for myself. Anime hyper [although those Fur Real Ponies truly scare my. The Fur Real Leopard cubs are muuuuch cuter.] And I'm totally getting that Paprika for myself too. >> Can't help it, I prefer buying stuff for myself.
And Kaleido Star <333 I'd say get that for everyone on your list. Love that anime, seriously.
"“I just finished my Go-Gurt and I'm all out of DBZ videos!”" reminds me of my friend's little sister. She's the type to just like shonen and covet those "I Love Naruto" shirts at Hot Topic.

You could also give the "big brother" Koi Kaze. Twisted Evil

On an entirely different note, Kiki's Delivery Service was what I used to introduce my Grandma to anime, who now loves all things Miyazaki. Very Happy

Oh yeah, I remember this from last year I think. These are fun.

Minor nitpick:

Quote:
Everyone knows the story by now – bored, misguided teenage genius Light finds a notebook that comes with a handy-dandy Death God named Ryuk that follows whatever murderous orders Light jots down in its pages.

Not really. Ryuk doesn't follow his orders at all. Infact, he doesn't even really do anything except observe. The death note will kill anyone who's name is written in it via heart attack or other method if specified. Ryuk has nothing to do with it.

I always did love those guys who wish they had a little sister... they have no idea the size of the bullet they dodged.

I second Kaleido Star for everyone.

Something must be lost in a the cultural translation, because I must be missing the whole "older brother/little sisiter" relationship thing they're talking about.

I mean, my little sister and I drink beer, go hiking, travel, and watch MST3k together. I don't think she's baked cookies for me in awhile, but I did take some some jerky made from the deer she shot when out hunting. It's pretty un-"moe."

It's like the the most bas ass version of Moe sister. It would make for anime comedy gold mine.

Princess Tutu was pretty awesome, I recomend it also for anime fans who liked the storybook motif in Utena.
