hopefully it will be as good as the first season.
In my opinion, the 2nd season is a bit of a let down. All the murdering, violence, horror and twists that made 1st higurashi wonderful were gone in 2nd season.
The thing that made the 1st season good was the fact that after all the murdering at the end of each arc, everything will be back to normal in the next story arc. It was this weirdness that made the show spooky.
The 2nd season is trying to explain all these in a logical sense......... I think that just ruined the vibe of the show.
Anyway, still looking forward to the 3rd season. |

The 50 pieces was Hanyuu(Player) taking 50 different events, and putting them together to form the 'perfect' 1983 needed for the miracle. Theres a lot of information there that could take up a half season probably | They did animate most of them. How could you have missed it, it took up three episodes... |

| Wow... I really thought Kai was going to be end of Higurashi. But this is great news! I have come to enjoy this series very much, even as someone who has never played the games. |

I expected something like this to happen, as the game and manga both still have extra arcs left.
I hope this season will be more like the first one. Not that the second season's bad though, it just drags on really long.
Now all I want is a 3rd GitS Season |

I guess I'm in the minority (on this forum at least) who thought season 2 was better than season 1 in a number of ways. The art and animation were huge improvements. And though most people seem to think things dragged, I thought season 1 moved too fast and left out a lot of infomation. Season 2 was more about the drama and Rika's struggle, while season 1 was about the mystery, horror, violence and blood. I'll admit that towards the 2nd half, it did get a bit dull, but I absolutely loved Minagoroshi-hen. My favorite arc, followed closely by Onikakushi-hen. To each their own, I guess.
Anyway, I'm really happy about a 3rd season. There some arcs that I really want to see animated, such as Miotsukushi-hen, Saikoroshi-hen, and Tsukiotoshi-hen. |

Now isn't this interesting news.
Seeing as Kai seems like the conclusion to the series, this third season feels quite out of place, at least in my opinion. I'm curious as to what they're going to animate with this. |

Aside from the "lolol why aren't they killing each other anymore lolol" crowd I think most people prefer the 2nd series from what I've seen. |

I'm inclined to agree. The first season had around three good adaptations, (Onikakushi, Himatsubushi, Tsumihoroboshi), one alright adaptation (Watanagashi), and two god-awful ones (Tatarigoroshi and Meakashi). Monolouges explaining characters lines of reasoning were wiped out, and that hurt it the most.
The second season may have seemed to drag for some (Satoko's rescue in Minagoroshi-hen, but it was absolutely necessary. It was the hardest aspect of fate to defeat, and they DID it. It was huge.
A third season baffles me though. Clearly, it should focus on the Rei fandisc, which has a very short epilouge and an adaptation of Higurashi Daybreak. There's also the possibility of the PS2 arcs. I think it'll be more of a Higurashi Fumoffu scenario though, |

I thought that "Satoko's rescue" dragged a bit, and wish they could have condensed it by at least one episode (although Shion decking Keiichi with a chair was worth it.). Everyone standing around talking works for a little while, but not a few episodes in a row.
That being said, I'm happy with how they set up the series -- but it will be jarring for those expecting the second series to be endless blood and psychotic laughing. Of course, it doesn't help that people got this stupid "ZOMG killer lolis!" meme in their heads. |

If I had to choose 2 shows to get a "Fumoffu" it would be this and Code Geass. |

I am a huge fan of the series, but I'm not very keen on the concept of a third season...
I felt like the finale for Kai was a little...flat compared to all the dramatic build-up for this arc. Then the epilogue with Rika - where the hell did that come from?! At any rate, it seems like we got a good resolution - how would they fit a third season in?
I guess the only thing I'd be interested in seeing animated for TV would be Miotsukushi-hen, as it's supposedly the "True" ending. But I just don't see how it could fit. Any other arcs to be animated may serve better as OAVs or specials, not a connected series... |

The first season was nice because of its semi-humoristic horror and the confusing plot.
But since the second season was a big disappointed, I'll stay away from the third season unless it returns to the roots (i.e. first season style). |
