| I can imagine some people being deceived by the rating, given the cover art, and buying this for younger kids, but I haven't seen it so I can't comment on how inappropriate the content may have been. It's just kind of interesting that it's been out for a week and this announcement follows closely after the weak rating was pointed out in ANN's review. |

My mother is in her 60's and would be horrified to learn that I'm watching animated porn. I would really prefer you not alert her in any way. Thank you. |

Wow... what a mess. Delaying the title for a year because of a misprint...
I guess the 2007 copies that got out are going to be collectors editions.

Lol. I have no idea what the contents of this title are, but I'm impressed by Funimation's decision to do the right thing. I'm sure their decision hurt them financially and they could probably have gotten away with it had they simply left it out.
This action significantly increases the reputability of their company in my eyes. Geneon and ADVision and such could learn a thing or two from Funimation. I doubt Geneon or ADVision would have recalled this title had they been put in the same situation.
A December 2008 release kind of sucks, though. To anyone who really wants this title they better snatch it up quick before they go back!! Or is it too late already? |

I wasn't talking about that. Funimation self-rates as well, according to the article.
What I meant was that if Geneon had made the same labeling mistake, there's no way they would have issued a recall. They'd have simply left it on the shelves. Because as should be obvious by now, Geneon considers short-term profits above all else. Customer satisfaction was apparently not a big issue to them.
This news makes me a little curious. I had noticed this title was about to release earlier, researched it a little and decided not to buy it. But now maybe I should reconsider buying it, if for nothing more so that I can have something rare. Maybe I'll donate $10 to Funimation (my estimate as to how much they get when I buy this title) to help lessen the blow of the monetary losses they will suffer since they recalled this title. |

I would think so... I'm a little surprised. I thought FUNimation was usually good in self-rating. Imagine the outrage if they had rated Witchblade TV-PG or even TV-14... bare nekkid asses & half-covered boobies?! For Shame! |

"parental guidance suggested" instead of "mature audience only"??
This is just stupid, the PAL release (regular and collector) were rated "safe for all ages" last year and even the reprints this year didn't change that!! |
