Maybe it's due to the scale of the glitch (more titles reported now). I also had similar problems with the Individual Eleven movie (stopped playing at scene 12) and returned it to TRSI for a replacement. Flag volume 2 stopped playing for me after episode 6 and I also returned it for a replacement before the replacement program was announced. |

I just picked up Eureka Seven DVD 11 from Best Buy and it is functioning properly.
The only problems...there is no music in the episode menu (much like Disc 8) and there is no textless opening or closing (though the package says closing is included much like Disc 10 which was missing the opening). Who knows... |

| Right Stuf's response to this is exactly why I do most of my online anime shopping at Robert's Anime Corner Store. They're customer service puts Right Stuf's to shame. They handle all defective disk replacement issues themselves, so the costumer has a hassle-free (and quick) exchange. Every time that I've had a problem with something that I bought from there, it has been a 100% painless experience, and they even do something nice for you sometimes. |

| I hadn't really thought about it before, but nearly every quality control issue I've had with anime DVDs involved Bandai products. And Bandai's customer support has been quite disappointing. They never did respond to my question regarding a faulty Outlaw Star DVD (contents didn't match the labeling). |

guess I'll hold off on getting My-Otome Vol 4 for a while, lol, hopefully when I do get it, it won't be a defective one. |

Mine appeared to work correctly, but I just skimmed it, didn't watch it. I did send Bandai a note about the missing textless opening for 10 (since its my favorite of the series), but I haven't heard back. I was pissed to see the ending was missing from 11 too.
Hopefully they don't screw up 12 which I believe was supposed to have ep. 50 opening and ending textless. But I won't hold my breath. |

Yep, got my GSD 12 (SE) from the local Best Buy today (I couldn't believe they had them in stock the day of release, but that's another thread) and it acted just like my bad volume 10: the 360 won't play it and the PC's WMP slogs through it and is unable to play the last episode. So I filled out the form on the site a la TRSI. Hopefullt it won't take six weeks again.
Oh, and MARIO, it's not the retailer's fault they were supplied a bad product. TRSI did the right thing telling people to go to the source for comaplaints. If RCAS wants to try sending you another potentially damaged disc themselves (costing them, the mediaries, for the mistake of the supplier), fine, but that's not a risk I'm willing to take. Punish the ones responsible: make Bandai pay for the lost stock and shipping. |

Just got my Eureka 7 vol 11 and it's also not working, the OP locks up completely and if you skip past to the start of the episode it plays bursts before locking up for several seconds.
Now watch me attempt to convince Bandai to replace it. Given my geographic location I'm pretty much expecting a "we don't sell to Australia, go away" response.
What's the point paying exorbitant prices for these series when the companies making them can't even replicate them properly? |

Well, RACS now reports that Banda-ent. isn't recalling any discs and is having the stores ship them as is and then handling the replacement themselves. This is a load of BS and Bandai is a bunch of jackasses for it. Having stores ship out discs they know are defective, considering estimates of GSD are that 50% of the shipped discs are defective.
Furthermore, most sites are now referring customers to the webform. It would be nice for them to update the site with at least a mention of the fact they know the problem exists. Hell, they could at least update the site with a mention that the releases even exist. They've known about this since before the street date and are just letting coasters ship out without any acknowledgment that there is an issue.
Also, what about people who bought discs from brick and mortar stores or other non-internet way and not online? Some people don't live on the internet and might not be able to access their form. So they're just supposed to keep buying discs and returning them until they get a good one? And I though mailing them back was a waste of time, those people are screwed. |

Although I am not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water, I have to admit out of my voluminous and growing collection, I have only had issues with Bandai discs. Come to think of it, I had some issues with one of my volumes of Seed, but didn't think about the possibility it was a defective disc from the factory! I had problems with V6 of Destiny, and now I think I will add Volume 12 to my Netflix queue and wait out on purchasing it since I don't want to go through that exchange headache again. HOLY CRAP! I forgot I bought the Anime Legends Escaflowne set a while back and haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I hope I don't run into issues with them! |

I've had My-Otome 4 for a week or so now, and I've watched it with no issues that I can recall. It sucks that all those DVDs are affected. I had put in an order with Rightstuf for Eureka Seven Vol. 11, but haven't gotten it yet.
I've dealt directly with Bandai once (regarding the missing slipcase) for Eureka Seven Vol. 10 Limited Edition. I had no issues. They were very prompt with their email response to me (within 24 hours) and the customer service rep on the phone was courteous. I received the slipcase a couple weeks from when I sent them my proof of purchase. It's unfortunate to hear about all these others issues that you guys have been having with Bandai stuff.
I've never purchased anything from RACS, but Rightstuf has done all right by me. ADV, on the other hand, can f-ing choke and die. But, that's covered in another post.
Hopefully, there will be no issues with Lucky Star when it's released. |

Well, I have E7 Vol 11 in the mail from Amazon right now, and it should be here tomorrow. Let's hope I get lucky and get one that isn't defective.
For all the horror stories I have heard about Bandai and bad disks reading this thread, I find myself having been very lucky. None of the disks in the 4 series I have that were released by Bandai have had any bad disks in them so far. I hope my streak continues. |
