| I'm getting this feeling that I should write a letter to Bandai Visual regarding this. But I'm probably not gonna do it since...well, you know what I mean. | |||

Yes, and I fail to see the surprise with that one. As soon as they announced 9 volumes, I checked the Japanese release, it was ALSO 9 Volumes, oh, and the distribution of episodes, in case you were curious is 2-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3, meaning JUST vol.1 is 2 episodes. I really support this type of release. It is precisely the same discs that came out in R2, and I expect the same quality of discs too. The best part is, while they cost about $50 a disc when they came out in Japan two years ago, they are $30 (MSRP) when they come out here. BV has some pretty good translators as well, meaning I expect to see some very accurate subtitles too. Seems they are finally attempting to deal with their prices issues (although this is still definitely higher than many other current R1 prices). |

It's comperable to their other markdowns, actually, and if you want to compare "amount saved" totals between US and Japanese releases of BVUSA's titles, the winner is definitely Gunbuster 2. (Despite the fact that people ignorantly complain about their pricing of it.) |
