Blah, anyways here is my entry that never made it.
I know it probably would not win. At least I learned how to use photoshop a bit while trying to make the card.

Is it just me or is 'Blood Pegasus' just a bunch of blobs? That doesn't look like a real design to me Confused Yet it's a finalist out of all the other entries?

All the other finalists look so great, full of potential. I especially like Captain Kannonball and Paradaschund

Actually, no one was required to produce any art at all, IIRC. So it doesn't matter what the character design looked like.

Blood Pegasus included some very nice art for the front of the card, however we're not showing the front of the card for this part of the contest since the judging criteria is entirely based on the description. Presentation counts very little for this.

And so begins the spam war on the best heroes...

I didn't think descriptions that triggered fleeting emotions would end up winning. I like Kannon best, if we're comparing them, but of course, none of that means anything at this point.

edit: But if we were to explore that, I mean, 'threatening humanity' is quite a long shot considering how hard it is to drink a heavily suited man's blood, After you take that out, he's just someone who transforms his body through a scientific process.
Dead magical parents don't leave much zing either. Emotions affect judgment, but they mean nothing if the criminal has a good reason for doing whatever they're doing, which they usually do.
Paradachund takes people to their favorite restaurants, but what's the difference between he and a cab ride? Even then, there isn't much in a closed down restaurant save for memories. You'd only end up getting hungrier. That said, all he has is enthusiasm.
ZZZ is... if I really have to say, ill-thought out. His power is only useful if he makes physical contact, which means he goes to the criminal, or the criminal to him. If he is within range of the criminal anyway, can't his power be subbed out for one of the numerous that are respoinsible for knocking people unconscious? And for that matter, how can you throw him if you'll only fall asleep before you could do it?

I'm not ungrateful for the contest being around, but I don't feel that the judges thought about it all the way through. There's a difference in brand of interest between things that are balanced out enough to be interesting, and something that's good in some parts, but falls apart elsewhere.
