Hm, we share the same birthday, so according to astrology, his personality is at least vaguely like mine.
Good lord, I hope he wasn't thinking what I would have been thinking! Perverted! |
I can take a guess at what would have been going through your mind dear Richard. Ikki Tousen girls in He is my Master garb perhaps......
As for the ad though, that's just awesome. As a fan of TLJ I found it worth a good chuckle watching him and the looks on his face. Talk about culture shock hehe.

But what about a country for a Space Cowboy? |

Maybe... however, if you've ever seen Tommy Lee Jones in certain situations, depending on the movie, he can be VERY intense, or VERY deadpan & laidback. Depending on the "Alien Jones" character he's doing, Suntory may have wanted him to be laidback. |

I saw the one in Japan back in July where he gets bitten by the puppy at the end. I never laughed so hard in my life!
Has anyone ever seen the Keifer Sutherland ones? Those are the best! |

The CalorieMate ones? Oh god those are awesome too. We need to seriously do more commercials like these. |

Go watch "Lost in Translation" and then maybe you'll get the reference. I thought it was required watching for all otaku, but apparently not.

You had that coming!
In any case........ROFL!!!!!
Always interesting for the commercials that are done for Japan.

This is not really suprising, considering he has been the spokesperson for Boss coffee for awhile. In Japan, not only is his face on the vending machines that sell it, there are also HUGE billboards with his face on them. It's kind of surreal and amusing to see such a prominent American actor on a billboard in the middle of a ricefield while you're on the train. |

Tommy Lee must be thinking:
"Why are these older girls acting like little babies?
Man, if it weren't for the money, I can't believe I'm actually working with them." |

| Had a trojan downloader try to make it's way onto my PC when I visited the link for the 30sec version of the commercial, just FYI. |

Okay. I swear my eyes are playing tricks on me. That kinda looked like the waitress from the maid cafe my friends and I went to while on vacation in Japan.
How many ones have girls in cat eats? We went to 'Cafe With Cat', right alongside Comictorama, and I could swear the waitress we had was that girl in the commercial. Plus that food he's having looks familiar. They didn't allow pictures, so I can't check. Eh, might just be a smiliar looking catgirl in glasses. Moe.

Ha. Same here. I got a photo of it somewhere. Hilarious. Just a grumpy looking Tommy Lee Jones with the Boss logo next to his face. |
