^My Best Buy also has a ton of those special edition Haruhi volumes taking up space as well. I did my part by buying my copies of all 4 of them though. Smile

You're not alone in that. (Though I've largely decided that ADV will release this right after Satan starts making his own snow cones.)

Hmm...well, to each his own I guess. I wouldn't recomend it. I gave up on it after giving it the patented 5 episode rule. Go with Kannazuki no Miko instead as you''d just be waching a less interesting and slightly annoying clone of it right down to character designs if you watch Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora anyway.

Emerje: Then maybe it's BB's problem[i.e. overstocking], and not Bandai's problem.

The responsible thing to do, if a few titles had to be dropped or delayed (the Gurren delay might even aid in an eventual Blu-Ray release for it), is to continue the titles that were ongoing, rather than abandon them in favor of new ones. So ADV did the right thing, and hopefully fans just need to be a little more patient for Gurren-Lagann.

GL won't be on Blu Ray because it's not out on blu ray in japan, the only titles that I know of that are out on blu ray is AIR and Utawaermono.

I knew this matter would be cleared up by March. I'm surprised ADV were a week ahead in finally renewing it's titles.

As for the license issue, jsevakis was getting a little skeptical of what I theorized and what samuel pointed out. Well, I'll admit that Justin is a veteran otaku, and knows so much, about anime, but when it comes to ADV films, it's those who live in Houston who hear more and learn more about what goes on at ADV. I'm not singling out justin, I'm saying that since I live in Houston, and frequently meets and talks with people inside ADV including marketing directors, there are some things they disclose and some things they don't. Granted, Samuel probably lives in Houston and knows more about Sojitz and ARM then I ever could. It was pretty obvious early on that this was only a small matter and not some " OH, no ADV is going under like Geneon" situation.

Now I'm confident we can look forward to March and the NEW licenses that ADV will annouce next month.(Here's to hoping Sonic X goes to ADV films after 4kids 5 year license expires this spring.)

As someone who views Key ero-adaptation anime as an insult to both my intelect and women in general, the priority of Kannon over such feets of awesome as Gurren Laggen and DMC is a slap in the face.

Also, the lack of a date for the Jing OVA is another slap.

I'm geting tired of having a sore face for doing the legal thing.

What would they want sonic x? It wasn't exaclty a success anywhere.
France maybe.

Oh, yay! Finally my Kanon and now I'll probably end up having 2 volumes shipped together =)

Too bad for those that are waiting for some of the unmentioned titles, but I'm sure they will come soon too.

I presume you mean an UK release, since R1 has had it since November.

I'd be writing the new guys in charge over there.

Technically, Utawarerumono isn't HD, they just released it upscaled. You can tell by the video quality. So there's no reason ADV couldn't upscale the masters of TTGL to HD, since a lot of the fansubs/RAWs were at 720p and still looked decent, if a little messy, just from being broadcast rips. Also, Gundam 00 is releasing on Blu-Ray and will be a "must-buy" for me. Anime hyper

Well, having both vol. 2 & 3 of Kanon released so close together is going to spoil me! The wait for vol. 4 is going to feel like an eternity; even if it will be only a month away. Ah, well. If this event has taught me anything, it's that patience is a virtue Smile

5cm is the title I'm most excited about. I've been waiting for it since the end credits of The Place Promised, before it even existed.

Yeah, I'm with ya there. That was the part that hit the hardest for me when ADV's issues first appeared. I had really been looking forward to seeing it only to have its R1 releases future so unclear. Seeing it back on the release schedule is great and gives me one more release to look forward to.

March and April are going to be busy months for me between anime releases and other film releases. It's fine with me though as the past few months have been the opposite.

Kanon still isn't listed on the ADV website. I pre-ordered all available Kanon eps (1, 2 with art box and 3) long ago, from Amazon. Amazon now says, "usually ships in 1-4 weeks," which is better than "never."

I won't feel safe until I get these DVD's in my possession. I'm going to assume what someone else here already said, that the feb 26 date is the date Kanon begins shipping to retailers.

I'm very hopeful that things have worked out! I NEED Kanon!
Also itching for 5 CM per second.

Uguu, indeed! Good luck, ADV, you all consistently have the best anime. I am wishing the best for you! PLease don't ever frighten me like that again!

With that said, I'm going to go accidentally steal some Taiyaki, get amnesia, and have some of mom's "special" jam. Smile

Thanks for the update, ANN. You guys are awesome!
