They definitely need to put more episodes on the Blu-ray. 2 episodes is too little imo. 4 episodes should be the minimum imo.
Nice to see it get a Blu-ray release. |

Maybe there's space restrictions? BluRay is technology that I don't have yet, so I don't know whether or not it would be possible to fit 5 episodes plus extras on a disc, though I'm assuming it would be.
Anyway, this release sounds awesome, and were it not so pricey, I might look into getting it. But 7 discs at that price is a big investment. Still, I've been watching the original broadcast and the fansubs in high-def, and it's really pretty... |

Blu-ray has A LOT more (I heard something like 10x but I don't think its quite that much) capacity than a DVD even when you consider that this is an HD picture 5 eps plus extras shouldn't be hard to do |

U.S. and Japan share the same region on Blu-Ray. |

Yeah 7 discs is a lot especially when you consider Blu-ray Disc's capacity and the Utawarerumono BD boxset was only 4 discs (although it was 1080i but it's the only comparable release). I'm surprised the Blu-ray release is being released through singles as opposed to multi-episode sets (3 sets for example). This leads to speculation if it'll also get an American BD release (after it gets licensed)...

They share the same region (A) but an American release would be cheaper and contain subtitles (and possibly a dub) although nothing has been mentioned yet if these discs will have English subs. |

While a BD has 10x the capacity of a DVD, the HD resolution along with enhanced audio (and goodness forbid multi-lingual) requires almost 10x the space. So in addition to wanting to reap early-Blu margins on sales, I don't expect count-per-volume to go up unless they release in SD on BD to stick a whole season on a disc or two (to keep production costs down.)

Funny, given Bandai's normal pricing system, us paying less was not the first thought running through my head. |
