I seem to recall the last block of 13 episodes (or so) being labeled as the "4th season" in Japan or even within the broadcast itself (one of the episodes, I seem to recall Hayate and Nagi going on about how this was the 4th and final season for the show). That being the case, this would be the "fifth" season or "second series," but I digress...
The show wasn't nearly as funny to me toward the end as it was for those first several episodes. I enjoyed it well enough, but some of the stuff early on gave me big laughs while lately, there have been smiles and chuckles, but little in the laugh area for me.
Still, I would watch a 2nd series though and if FUNimation licensed Hayate no Gotoku, I'd buy it. |

I remember what you are talking about but they probably said "cour" and it was translated as season. Japan has cours, each block of 3 months/12-13 episodes which is kind of what a television season is for us westerners. We usually use the term 'season' for each series. I.e., a third 'season' of Zero no Tsukaima, a second season of Shana, or a second season of Hayate. 'Series' would be more accurate, but season is not necessarily incorrect. |

wow to be honest i didn't think it would get a 2nd season
and i sort of didn't want one..the jokes were getting old,characters were annoying and the inside jokes aren't as funny as they first were
2nd season of hayate..i'll pass |

| I'm happy for this. Its one of my favorite shows and I was becoming saddened that it might just stop at 52 and never have anymore episodes. As long as it stays funny, which it has imo, I hope they keep it going forever. |

| Honestly, I was starting the dread the end of the series more with every episode I watched. Now that a second season has been confirmed, I can continue enjoying Hayate no Gotoku without fear of it ending for good any time soon. Hurray! |

Apparently I'm one of the only ones who actually likes the manga but dislikes the anime? -_-
I just don't really like it, I really don't know why. I can see how others would like the anime better, however. Maybe it's because I don't like anime that well... (I like manga much better.) |

| I like this show a lot and truly hope for a R1 release someday, and am very excited now with a second season coming out at least that I get more of a great show. |
