It makes me wonder what will happen to the Pizza Hut connection when it airs here in the United States on adult swim on April 26, 2008 at 1:30 AM. Will the ads be censored out or left in? I'm going to bed on censoring because Pizza Hut domestically probably would not want to be associated with a cartoon that they didn't initially endorse, and all the sexual tie-ins and racial tension of Code Geass might also be a factor in the corporate heads going "ehhh, no, censoring that shit we want no part in this." Wile on the other hand, free advertising is free and where better than where it can't be avoided, in the show itself?
I guess we'll have to wait and see. I just wish Pizza Hut here would do the same stuff, like the deal with Marimite. Refined Christian students devouring delicious pizza is always awesome. |

| I say leave it in, free Advertising, man; after all Code Geass wasn't that bad on sexuality (racial tension somewhat but it shouldn't be that controversial) |

| This is no different Japanese Mcdonalds promoting Dragon Ball GT back few years ago. Whatever business decision that oversea branch makes, the headquarter won't care except making profit. |

Theres not too much sexuality in Code Geass. Besides, we see product placement in R-rated movies all the time. Anime is becoming mainstream but its still seen as either for geeks or kids. Kids and geeks both love pizza...
Is Code Geass part 1 out in the US? If so, how did it do as far as sales (or if broadcast, how were the ratings)? If they were good enough Pizza Hut in the US might be willing to bear some of the cost in licensing, which could be great for all of us if the DVD/Blu-Ray sells for the price of a US DVD/Blu-Ray. |

| Maybe Pizza Hut has some deal with Sunrise. They paid certain amout of money, so that Sunrise or other listened companies can't delete or censor those Pizza Hut ads on the anime. |

Pizza Hut pays for the timeslot that Code Geass and Darker than Black aired in. Also, it was the Japanese Pizza Hut that did this, American corporate probably didn't even know.
And no, Code Geass has not at all been released in America yet. Infact, Bandai probably won't release on DVD for a few months, like with Blood+. |

Because Pizza Hut would not want to deal with angery parents, usually the mothers, I am sure they will censor the ad. Think about Code Geass and think of the community who purchases food at Pizza Hut.
I myself don't know anything about Code Geass, but I do know the community that shops there is usually young people. Kids to people in their 40's usually.
Companies that deal with customer service often try to find ways to save them from lawsuit, no matter how small the issue. |

Introducing Japanese Otaku to a different type of food...
It'd be really cool if something like this happened for Code Geass over here, sure, it probably won't happen but if it did it'd be the first time in a long time that a mainstream American chain jumped in on a title like this. |

But who knows how they'll handle it? If anime was truly on the "global" bandwagon, we'd have Pizza hut promoting the show here too (like these zomg worldwide releases Gonzo is doing with its new titles), but that's likely not (won't say never) going to happen... Geass does indeed have the formula to make it big with an American audience as well though. |
