I say this and it made me not want to see the film. I felt like I was having vision problems. It just looks crazy.

Having grown up on Speed Racer, I can say that this actually looks AWESOME! I can't wait to see it. Very Happy

I'm going to watch it too. It looks pretty awesome. ^^

I haven't seen all of the older series, I know I heard of Speed Racer X, that came on Nickelodeon or something...didn't last.

Nickelodeon isn't really anime friendly... >.>;

The full trailer looks way better than the teaser. I'm not as hesitant as I was before, so I might actually see the movie.

You forgot to mention the Int. trailers which don't suck as much as the domestic trailers. Anyway, I like how the W Bros. swiped from Utena and Neo Tokyo. Also, the transitional light speed scene in the classroom is once again from Akira. [And I think that castle-climbing shot is from Chrono Trigger or Ninja Gaiden, but I can't remember...] Um, what else? So, yeah, the races themselves look like what I should've gotten out of the Pod Racer in Phantom Menace, but like PM, the dialogue is still awful for Speed Racer. The Ferrel Old Spice commercials are more amusing.

I never thought I'd actually say this in my life, but it looks like the Wachowski's have finally made a realized movie. Anime smile

It looks like they are achieving the visual effect they want with this movie. Some people seemed to be put off by the art style -- as was I at first -- but this movie looks like one gigantic, crazy-ass, cartoon; which is what Speed Racer should be.

Can't wait.

Yeah, and the original cartoon was a regular Shakespearean arts festival. Rolling Eyes

Good grief, it's a live action adaptation of a 60's anime that was cheesy to begin with. Enjoy it for what it is and don't overanalyze it.

Hey now, I liked the Matrix trilogy! Razz Granted, I'm one of the few who enjoyed the whole thing, but still, it wasn't nearly the train wreck that the haters made it out to be.

I don't think you're going to find a lot of people agreeing with you that The Matrix was not a "realized" movie (whatever that means to you).

Wonderfully cheesy. I think the Mach 5 is probably going to be the real star of the movie, though (as it should be!).

It seems to keep the spirit of the original show. The trailer looks like a nice summer flick to just go and have fun with.
