Besides, the ultimate movie that would sell unbelievably in this country, "Macross: Do You Remember Love", STILL hasn't been licensed. I'd shoot for that instead of the sucky "Macross Zero" (how fitting a title, BTW) - it almost beats up Macross 7. Okay, I'm exxagerating - NOTHING could be as bad as Macross 7..... |
Ignoring your comments on "Zero" and "7", I'm guessing that the legal issues were settled long enough for "Plus" to get licensed (or Harmony Gold and Tatsunoko were just feeling generous that day).
"DYRL?" actually has technically been brought over before; once as a English dub w/ Australian and Hong Kong actors (I have yet to find it anywhere), and once as "Clash of the Bionoids" which, if you've seen "DYRL?", will make you're blood boil (I'm only slightly exagerating). And sadly, it would probably only sell among us "Macross" fans; quite a few newer/younger fans would probably turn up their noses at the fact that it was made in 1984.
And apparently the fact that it was released in that year proves Orwell was too early. |
