and as always theres always one jackass floating around just to talk like a prick. go find something better to do to waste your time instead of instigating a flame war you twat.

Moving on seeing this has not changed my opinion one bit about this poorly done insult when this crap storm hits the fan I'm going to hold an umbrella up and watch the original movie. as for actually watching the movie when it comes out on DVD I wouldn't even bother with a used media store or a rental place. hell I wouldn't even bother downloading it and wasting the hard drive space

The US Census considers middle easterners white. =p

Joking aside, I'm glad that it appears this movie is moving along. I have hopes it will turn out well. Smile
Yet another reason the US is so endeared to the rest of the world. Razz

If you're old enough to grow a full beard, you're too old to be Tetsuo, a TEENAGER.

Tetsuo won't be a teenager in the remake but rather a young adult.
Though I agree, a couple there look a bit too old even for that.
Here's the casting call description again:

[ TETSUO ]
Male; any ethnicity, 20-25 years old; strung out, intense, street rat. (LEAD)

Can't believe that this only just occurred to me but Aaron Paul is really perfect for Tetsuo. Notably he isn't on that list, likely because Breaking Bad is shooting their final season next year, but damn he would be great in that role.

I doubt anyone in japan flips out when they make movies based Shakespeare.

Those productions always turn out to be a bunch of Japanese people trying to look white. No one cares cause they realize its an adaptation.
If all you care about is the names of the characters and their race/nationality then I question whether you really even payed attention to the story, cause; that is whats being told here. The story of Akira, not the story of Japanese people in futuristic Japan.
