Interesting to see Funimation pick this title up... Kenichi was one of my favorite shows from these past couple of anime seasons, and I think that a lot of anime fans slept on the series.... The premise of the show was typical shounen fare, but the characters are what really sold the show, imo. Seeing kenichi go from super weakling to history's strongest disciple was a lot more enjoyable than other shounen shows.

One of the best series I watched last year. I marathoned the first 45 episodes over a weekend and anxiously looked forward the remaining five episodes airing to be subbed. This is an instant buy for me.

While that may be an important question to you, I also have a question. Funimation acquired the license of Love Hina a few months ago, whatever happened?
I've watched a few episodes and read about 40 chapters of Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple, but now that this series is availible in English, I am going to check this series out. |

Great news for Kenichi fans! I'm also hoping that the PS2 game will be brought over now. |

That said, this series is gonna be a day one buy for me. |

If the PS2 Kenichi video game was a rpg, there would be more of a chance. But Fighting games aren't as common as one would think.
I've been a gamer for years upon years, so I can guess which games get licensed and which ones sadly don't. |

| History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi was a great series. I find it interesting they only got the first 26 of 50 eps though. |

| I'm not quite happy with their choice of titles (since History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi is all I have ever known it as), but I think Funimation will do great with this property. |

| I liked the little that I've seen, and Funimation knows what it's doing when it comes to shonen. |

I wish Tokyo Movie Shinsha stuck with Kenichi for as long as they've stuck with D. Gray-man (which I don't even enjoy watching half as much as Kenichi). I guess Kenichi didn't have the lasting sponsorship that D. Gray-man has to keep the TV series going. Capcom was one of of Kenichi's main sponsors, so maybe once the manga gets further ahead, they can produce a second series (a la Rosario + Vampire - another Capcom-sponsored anime).

woot one of my fave series. of course my only concern is the dubs as they probably will use the same group of VA as for most of their shonen titles they get.
wished they put some more extras in the dvds and hope another season will be announced. |
