for some reason i thought Viz would get D. Gray Man. i'm surprised at how long it's taking these Shounen Jump properties to get licensed.

I was thinking Viz would get it too, guess not. Looking forward to RxJ Smile

LOL. No more D. Gray Man on YouTube for me then. But I'm glad Funi has it, they're my fave. <3

im impressed Funi. They nabbed D.Gray man, a title I thought Viz had its teeth in since it picked up the manga. Now I can expect a decent dub.

As for R&J it may be boxset worthy.

I need to know about Ouran though. I'm hoping:

Ouran Host Club, will be on sale May 31. Very Happy

Romeo x Juliet? Who DIDN'T see this coming?

Me. It's low-end B-list stuff like this that's choking up the pipeline. In the current market, it's only cannibalising sales from other titles. This is a bad move from funi.

I'm not saying this because it was either a good or a bad choice. I'm saying this because it was FUNimation MANY MANY MANY months ago who stepped up alongside GONZO even long before this license was announced and insisted that everyone stop pirating this show.

Wow, I didn't think there were that many people who didn't like RxJ. I thought the anime was superb, it became one of my favorites last year. I'm glad Funimation got the license. Can't wait for it to come out. Anime smile

Agreed.

Whoever wrote this article completely missed the point of the series, and I have pity for them. It was a fantastic anime.

I hope they can get D.Gray Man on TV, that'd be fun (although the middle part of the anime kinda drags).

About D.Gray-man on Toonami=No. The series is CHOCK-FULL of religious imagery/themes/everything else, and editing these out would be like editing alchemy out of Full Metal Alchemist. It's like...the whole point of the series.

Eva was aired on Adult Swim which is late at night and aimed towards adults, not on Toonami which is on Saturday nights and aimed towards older kids and teenagers.

So, what's the point in announcing a series a full year before it gets out? What's the advantage for the consumer? None. Subs stopped circulating a long time ago, so there's really no excuse for this questionable announcement.

D-Gray Man will probably be successful even though it's sub-par.

I KNEW IT!!! I knew it I knew it I knew it!! I KNEW FUNimation was gonna get Romeo X Juliet since they sent a cease and desist letter to the fansubbers. They did that for Suzuka, Mushishi and Gunslinger Girl and got them all! I knew this was gonna be licensed and I was RIGHT!! Haha! But I didn't expect them to get D.Gray-man. I was expecting Viz to get it since they got Naruto and Bleach and all. But yay for special Ouran announcement coming up soon! Very Happy

I think the REAL news here is that Gonzo are letting Funimation release it in boxsets (which is another step from their digital distribution idea). We all knew Funimation had RomeoXJuliet.
