I can think of a number of countries that fit that scenerio. It looks like yours is no different to most. The grass looks always better on the other side until you get to look closer and find out it's the same only in a different location. I know this from experience.

I'm well aware of the fact that there are countries with similar situation but Belarus is not some african country with constant wars and average educational level close to zero. It's Europe, EU is near and etc. Like Ukraine =) It's not like i'm whining or something, it's fun sometimes to live here in this absurd. And i would rather live here than in London for example. Despite being a city of wealth it's still big international dump. =)
I'm just trying to create an image of the country where japanese ranobe character appears on the waffle wrapping =)
