I don't know if it would be good or bad if this deal went through. However, I hope Madman survives whatever happens. Since Madman was doing well the last I heard, I hope that the parent company's troubles don't have too much of an effect.

Private equity group? They must have some money then, so say hello to lawsuits for downloaders, lots of them.

See kids? The moral of the story is that industry retraction means it is time to buy more anime ... companies.

If marklungo is right, they could just be trying to position themselves on the ground floor of spinning off the less profitable toy divisions, or the anime & manga divisions based on the article. Regardless, this is certainly not the cheapest way to make sure your favorite show finally gets licensed.
