I was going to complain that the subbed version has the edited episode 6 but then I was like why bother. I didn't really like the edited or non-edited version of episode 6. That episode and episode 4 or the only ones I didn't care for in Gurren Lagann.

And I think it is great that the show is coming on TV. More exposure can only be a good thing.

Danm!!! More crappy dub being aired on American T.V. Hasn't sci-fi learned from their first experience, with sucky American dub hack jobs, that,it isn't gonna work?

Maybe he or she is a hardcore Ocean/Blue Water or an Odex dub fan? Very Happy

As much as I would have rather not see this thing rushed or dubbed in LA(because I feel we're getting wwwwwaaaayyyyy too many dubs from this area), I hope it is good, and maybe something new for YTV in the Fall for us Canucks.

Too bad Fargo still isn't around. He would use delete/tempban more often than insta-lock.

Yah, the only case I know of where something was shown edited on Japanese TV and unedited on US TV was Bleach, in the episode where spoiler[Aizen stabs Hinamori] But that was violence, and US cable seems to allow pretty much anything when it comes to violence now.

I'm still rather bummed that this isn't on Adult Swim; at least they don't excise two or three minutes of each broadcast to slip in another commercial break. *sigh* Well, I suppose any airing is better than no airing at all...

I'm actually considering canceling my pre-order of the sub only Vol. 1 because of this. I'd prefer it as Sub only, but would rather have it completely uncut. I'm very Disappointed in Bandai for doing it this way.

Episode 6 (TV version) I can deal with, but what I'd like to know is if the episodes have their DVD fixes or not, because if the the sub only version = original TV source then I'll be waiting out for the hybrid release.

Uncut episode 6? Now I'm even happier to wait for 2009.

Also, I had heard that after the TV broadcast of episode 4, Gainax went back and reanimated it due to the less-than-warm reception it received on 2chan. If this is the case, I hope that's the version which makes it onto the hybrid release.

Untrue. The way episode 4 looks was intentional, so it was unchanged for the dvds.

Also for what it's worth people at Animeondvd are saying that the news about episode 6 is false, and that they even showed the uncut subbed dvd version of episode 6 at the con.
